I don't believe that the stripe discussion has ever been resolved. Since i will be working with alot of stripe projects in the upcoming seasons i will attempt to see if i notice anything going on.
I've worked with stripes for a good while, and I've never seen any reason to believe they were recessive. I frequently get striped, jungle, abbarent, and banded animals when breeding Stripe X Banded. Even Stripes X Stripes don't always make all stripes. I think it's very possible that there are some lines that are recessive, and some line bred though.
My stripe x stripe last season was 100% stripe. So far my stripe x banded is 100% banded with 1 striped female and 100% striped (with only 2 babies so far) with my other striped female (the male is banded).
I have Bell Bold Stripe male by Bell Stripe albino Female and I have had all my incubated for females come out bold striped and with one specific female every egg incubated for male came out Bold jungle so that has confused me a little as well.
So far from what I've hatched (8) Afghan X Boldstripe ( GGG/R2 and HISSS/R2 ) all have been normal looking Afghans. So.......I'm leaning toward recessive but will no more later in the year.
well here is a kicker, the bold stripe and the reverse stripe are 2 very distinct patterns. are they both recessive? cause my BSB x RS gave me thus far 100 striped
