I'm considering breeding my leos just for my own personal enjoyment (not for money) but I'm concerned I will be stuck with 30+ leopard geckos by the end of the season (eggs from 2 females). Has anyone had good experience selling leos either on this site or a different site? How should I go about this? Many thanks!

Well, if you're just doing it for your enjoyment, why incubate every egg you get?

Just incubate a few, and toss the rest if you're concerned with having too many hatchlings.

You have a great point, Maia. I don't know why more people don't consider freezing eggs as soon as they're laid and then throwing them away an option.

Yeah... I can name a million people with bearded dragons that have done this. For some reason people with leopard geckos feel they need to incubate the eggs. This is more for people who have accidentally got eggs. hmm...

I have a feeling that the bigger, better known breeders probably make the most sales on this site. I don't use this site as my primary source of sales. I do most sales at shows and word of mouth. My first season I produced 13 babies from 2 female breeders. Last season I produced 39 from 6 breeders and this season, 75 from 6 breeders. Another way to possibly limit offspring may be to introduce the male to each female only once. You could introduce a male to the first female and then wait a few months before introducing him to the second one.

I deff see your point and I have done this several times in the past with eggs when I was not interested in breeding. I'm just concerned I'll throw out a potentially really nice baby, you know?
