Johannes, I am soooo excited you are coming to the USA! I am looking forward to meeting you. I guess we should start planning our beach party! You all can touch bases with Kelli and me at the Daytona Hilton, and the room is booked under the name 'Marcia McGuiness'. I'll also post my cell phone number so we can keep track of each other.

Well, we are going to need a 'Plan B". Here is an excerpt from the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce Beach Rules and Regulations:

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the beach or access ways.
Barbecue grills are allowed, but open fires of any type are prohibited.
Overnight camping is not permitted.
Glass containers are prohibited on the beach.

So much for our beach fire and cook-out, unless we can figure out a way to get a BBQ on the beach and disguise the beer.​

I am sure we can figure something, I personally don't drink but for those that do, this can be a problem. It looks like the grill wont be a problem, so the cookout could happen. Only other option is a reservation at a restaurant or something but the beach would be much more fun. :main_yes:

I also think we should take Marcias lead and if we do not want to be left out of the "gecko gettogether" then we ought to post our cell phone numbers or something like that, so everyone can make sure to stay in touch while in Daytona.

Thats sounds like alot of fun, and very interesting at the same time, try to take some pictures and post them when you get back.

I'll post many pics for sure! I think I will have internet at the Iguana-station. So if I have some time I can post pics from there.

Hmm...do you think I should get me a "pre-paid"-card for my cell phone for my stay in the US? But if I got that right the meeting should take place on saturday, right? So maybe I'll just try to find you on Saturday at the show and ask you about the exact plan.
But it's still some time left untill the show so I hope the plan is ready before I take my flight to Miami on August 15th.

I'll be there! Some of you knew that I wasn't going to be able to make it because my husband had a business trip. Well, it turns out that he's not going, so I will be able to go to Daytona after all!

I'm looking forward to seeing many friends and meeting some new ones as well! See you all there!

I was just thinking, hey.. maybe I'll stop by Daytona for Saturday of the show.. but I just remembered I have to come back to school a week early for a leadership community project. I have to move on August 12th . First year in 3 or 4 years I'll be missing Daytona. Sadface..

I agree, that was a lot of fun! We had driven all night and I hadn't slept much. Then I changed in the car and brushed my teeth in the bathroom there. Good times.. I still cannot function right in the morning without a shower first.

Less than a month to go, I can't wait, we just got back from vacation and we are missing the beach already, so hurry up Daytona!!! Oh yeah, the over abundance of geckos is a nice PLUS!!!

I'm scared of the plane ride, but SO EXCITED about the show and seeing everyone there. I'm so glad Marcia will be on the plane with me to hold my hand, I'm really not looking forward to the flight.

Kelli... I have been flying across the country since I was 7 years old(alone) and even through hurricanes too! I promise you that you'll be fine! Just get a window seat , some gum(helps ears pop), some reading material and enjoy the flight . I am sure Marcia will take care of you either way.

We are getting in thursday and leaving monday. Be forewarned, I am lovable and taken :main_laugh: :main_rolleyes:
