i do think your opinions matter to the mods but i do not necessarily think your opinions matter to many of the other members

I don't care what people's opinions are, I only care how they express them. ;)

And by that I mean people do not get in trouble for disagreeing with me. They get in trouble for breaking the TOS.

I just feel like sometimes you have to be very careful with what you say. It has nothing to do with the admins, it has to do with who is going to take something so personally...

I feel completely liberated on GF. I cuss a lot more in person, but out of respect for the GF community, I don't use profanity (besides, I can't). Other than that slight self control...I pretty say whatever I want on the forum. I don't go out of my to insult anyone or to get anyone angry.

Thank you! We do our best here to keep things clean and drama free, while still allowing free expression of opinion. Of course, we are not perfect, but we do our best.:)

I agree. But this is not with just GF. You have to be very dainty all over the internet in how you word things. Without speaking out loud, words lose valuable inflections that make people percieve the tone of your comments differently. People online are generally more likely to perceive certain opinions in a sneering or rude tone as opposed to a normal speaking voice if they had heard them said out loud. It doesn't help that grammar is sometimes neglected while typing. This is only a generalization of course; obviously not everyone behaves the same. ;)

So unfortunately sarcasm and harmless teasing that would be chuckled at in person are often misunderstood online and even taken as insults. Ah, the limitations of the internet. *sigh*
