^She doesn't have enough money to take it to the vet and if she does take it back they might be able to make the gecko better I wasn't trying to sound like it is a broken toy
leolover23 said:How can you guys say that?!?
I am horribly outraged at the thought of taking a leo back just because he's sick!!!!!!!
If a loved one was sick like your grandma would you take her back?
What he needs is love and care and attention!!!
You should keep him even more for that reason!
It's a LIVING THING not a broken toy!
I would NEVER in a million years take my leo back because he's sick or hurt!:main_angry:
So you'd trade your gecko in for money!?!
That's HORRIBLE!
How could you even THINK that?
At least give him to a friend!
Give him to me!
I'll take him!
I still cannot belive you guys would that easily take him back.
Leonardo said:he hasnt had it for that long so it is perfectly fine for him to consider taking it back and getting either a refund or a new, healthy gecko. since the store's job is supplying animal supplies and caring for animals they will be able to get the best help they can get for the little gecko that Michael cant since he doesnt have the money. it is the most responsible thing he can do at the moment.
taking an animal to the vet doesnt always mean just one visit and your pet is cured. sometimes treating an animal takes weeks or even months. its pretty pricey. if he doesnt have the money for one visit there is no way he can continue the necessary treatment the gecko might need. if he were to give it to someone else that means he would be putting unnecessary pressure and responsibility on them and he cant wait to ship it or for you to pick it up in the condition the gecko is in.
please dont make people feel bad about considering their options. everyone on this forum loves their animals and some even make money on them by breeding. so it is not a bad thing to take the animal back for a refund.
Michael, dont feel bad for taking the gecko back. you did the right thing. the gecko needed help and taking it back was the most responsible thing you could do with the lack of money you had.
Shuffle said:thx i think he already has a new home the lady at the place loves leopard geckos and she has some i think she might of took him home to get better
Large chain pet stores have vets that make rounds to all of their stores. It's far more likely to get the care that it needs there than in the home of someone who wasn't financially prepared for an emergency vet visit. Almost all breeders have some sort of health guarantee as well as most pet stores. Like Marcia said, if there was a problem with a gecko that I sent out I would want to know about it immediately to rectify the situation. There's a difference between having a Leo for a year, causing an injury or illness and not taking it to the vet and buying an injured or ill Leo.leolover23 said:I STILL completely disagree...
I CAN see some of your reasoning,
but it's like "oh, just take him back"
when you should be caring for the thing and assuming responsibilty.
I just disagree (like I said before) with your willingness to give it up THAT easily.
