Ok now I know there are numerous threads and polls on this but mine is a bit different. People always say the phoenix worms are good but sooo expensive, so they stick with supers and crickets or mealworms. Now if money wasn't an option on feeders what would you chose as the best diet for the leos?
I planed on mixing phoenix worms and supers. I can get the phoenix worms for $7 dollars here for 100 count or 400 for $20.
Combos are allowed for the ppl who mix feeders seeing I know the best diet is one that varies.

Not a choice but Roaches and Supers for me that combo has been great for putting weight on my geckos.

I use roaches and silkworm combo; with occasional crickets, mealworms or supers. :)

i voted crickets for 2 reasons 1 they are cheap and easy to take care of 2 they are active and keep my leos and amevias moving around and since they are cheap i can afford more leos hahaha

Phoenix worms may be fairly nutritious, but they're tiny and from the reactions they've gotten with my leo they must taste like butt. :tongue3: Palatability is important too.

I don't currently have access to roaches (not the kind you'd feed a leo, at least  ), but I'd love to try them out on him some time. He was ecstatic when I gave him his first superworm, he'd probably go nutty over roaches.

Yea I think I'm going to do Dubia as the main meal and mix in some superworms and maybe a few crickets some times.
But my new girl needs to be fattened up. Anyone oppose a pinkie after a week or 2 of having her?

Those are mostly used for laying females who have big energy drains ... *I* wouldn't personally, when there are so many other feeders to choose from, unless she were in great need of a quick boost. But that's just me. :)

Yea I read the pros vs cons on it. I might, I might depending on how she is doing in a month.

I vote roaches as well. I use both dubia and lateralis. I also use mealies and supers in rotation. If you need to fatten up a gecko, supers and/or wax worms are a better option than pinkies, though be careful with waxies, they're addicting.

Roaches and waxworms would fatten a gecko up nicely. But then you'll have a problem with addicitions. My silly gecko needs prodding to eat waxies or mealworms...I guess they don't wriggle enough...

Just made the switch to Phoenix worms. Lenny is a big fan and I love how much more nutritious they are!
