I just want to say thank you for this thread. We struggled for months with the same problem, even after seeing a vet who put our gecko on eye drops. Our little guy won't use a humid hide so we bathed him 2 times daily to get his eyes open and help him rehydrate. I tried a series of different things with no improvement. He lost a good amount of weight because he couldn't see to find food and over all just not feeling well. I made the Golden Gate slurry and also did Repto Boost through a dropper to help with weight gain and vitamins. The Repto Boost really helped him gain his weight back.
Several different antibiotic eye drops later, we took him back to the vet again after seeing this post. The vet had no idea what the problem could be even after doing some research and examining him. I told the vet about reading this post and he prescribed the same oral antiobitic (Emrofloxacin 25 mg/ml) one drop 1x daily based on his weight. It took 3 or 4 days of being on the Emrofloxacin before he started keeping his eyes open and started eating again. He now comes out of constant hiding to hang out and acting more like himself. He is still on the antibiotic for another week. Without this post we may not have been able to get our gecko back to health, so a heartfelt thanks goes out to you and everyone else who posted.
So glad to hear it!! They are such fun little creatures.
