How much would I get for the offspring of these two?

I just want to add one more thing. It is your responsibility as a breeder (IF you breed, I'm not "assuming" things) to educate the people you are selling your geckos to. If you just give them a leopard gecko and tell them nothing about it, what happens if they decide they want to try breeding? They will either do it ignorantly and continue the chain of mystery geckos, possibly with defects, or they will read up on breeding and learn that you were irresponsible when they learn about all the morphs themself.

I'm not saying you need to give them a speech about leopard gecko genetics but if youre giving them a normal het blizzard, you should be able to explain what the het blizzard means.

There's no such thing as an ex-marine.

Moving on, I'm about to disagree with a bunch of you.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with breeding for the expressed purpose of making money.

Profit as motivation isn't somehow inherently evil. There's nothing about making a profit that automatically means the animals aren't cared for or the customers aren't treated well. It just means that a person wants to make some money.

Now, breeding for money is difficult. Offsetting the maintenance costs, balancing the requirements of the animals, shipping, advertising, analyzing the market in order to accurately predict what will sell- there are so many factors that make turning a profit difficult that I'd categorize it as a relatively ineffective way to make money. That doesn't mean it's an unethical way to make money.

the people that dont love their animals, dont too much mind if they arent cleaned out as regularly as they should be.

The animals have requirements that need to be met in terms of conditions they are kept in, time spent ensuring they are clean and healthy, food, water, heat. These are concrete, practical things. Providing them does not require love. Selling them honestly and treating the customers well does not demand passion.

There is nothing inherently immoral with trying to make a profit or even being motivated by money. The reasons a person chooses to breed matter far less than the way they go about it.

i suppose that is technically true however most of the people that DO breed solely for profit DONT seem to care much for live stock. Im not saying everyone who breeds for profit is like that but most are and thats where the stereotypical view of 'breeding for profit is bad' idea comes from.

the people that dont care and love their animals, often dont mind too much if they arent cleaned out as often as they should be.

If you asked about breeding and how much you will get, then it's obvious that you're thinking about breeding. Everyone here is right.

Actually, no, you're wrong. Unless you are in my house and watching what I am doing how the hell would you know if I was going to breed them? Asking how much they'd go for out of sheer curiosity does NOT automatically mean I am going to breed them. That, no offence, was the most hilarious thing I have read on this entire forum. That would be like saying thinking how much my car (if I had one, rofl) would go for, but that doesn't mean I'm going to sell it.

What are you doing? Kristi was NOT being mean. She's a VERY good breeder with a HIGH rep, she is highly respected.

You should really stop acting imature and 'laughing' at everyone. Yes, it was 'assumed' that you were going to breed when you're asking BREEDER questions.

I think this thread is getting out of hand. :main_no:

Well if so then she shouldn't wouldn't be rude and sit there and say, "No, you ARE going to sell and breed them, why else would you ask," when I am not. My male can't even reproduce, so I got annoyed because I dislike "know-it-alls". & even if I was she would have no way of knowing unless I assured her I was, which I did not do. How would she know? Sure, you can call me immature, but using "rofl" and "lmao" is a habit I can't break, doesn't make me immature.

no such thing as a 'know it all' ... but there are always people that know MORE than you. (not you specifically but in general) and when you come onto a forum full of those people and ask for their help, respect, listen to and DONT back chat and be rude to the highly respected breeders which you came for advice off of.
Weve helped you and youve got your answers, so stop laughing at everyone and being childish please.

Not even close. I am just "mysteriously absent" when the subject is something I have no clue about.

I imagine i could beat him at guitar knowledge and drum knowledge

Playing them, constructing them or appreciating them? Definitely on the first two, the third... I dunno, I listen to a lot of music.

and console knowledge... maybe.

The vidja games you kids are all playing with your first person shooters and yer pokermons?

I know nothing about them. Let's play for money.

You know what SidandCira, you really just need to calm yourself down, and not be so rude to people who are only trying to help you
You came on here asking for advice, and people are giving you constructive/advice-critisism and you go all nuts. If your not willing to listen to what everyone has to say, then don't bother posting here at all.
You are new here and you have the nerve to start flipping off on everybody, and disrespecting the elders/seniors on this forum. So just stop.

Again, I'm not laughing at ANYONE, it's just a habit. I use "lmao" and "rofl" even when I'm not laughing, and sometimes I don't even realize I use it. Also, I said thank you and got the answer I wanted a long time ago thanks to GeckoGal who just answered my question with a nice thorough, descriptive answer. She didn't whine at me with things she assumed like everyone else. But now people just keep posting and saying stuff like, "Why would you breed for just the money?" etc when I never said I was breeding, which is how this ALL started. I'm not the only childish one here.

I wouldn't think typing normally was going all nuts, it's not like I'm using capslock or insulting anyone or calling people out, or screaming curse words. I said thank you to the people who just answered my question without assuming things. Now, other people who insisted they were right/knew everything (not about leopard geckos, about ME and what I am doing with my leo's.) were somewhat disrespected I will admit, but they weren't exactly in the right either. I stopped replying for an entire day, I dropped it, but people kept quoting me and insisting things that weren't correct, so I replied back and the thread blew up again.

:/ You are once again going on the defensive and being a snippity child. Kristi is VERY well known and known as a eclipse queen if i remember right. :main_laugh: Well you've made your first impression and have been very rude to some of the well knowns and helpfuls on here. They probably wont be around to answer your questions when you need them. Like Dog Shrink said you asked a question on the offspring of the two. You only ask because you wan to know how much youd get for the cheap babies. Which is a good indication you wanna breed, regardless what your saying on here. The way you change toons indicates to me you're trying to hide something. :/ This IS getting outta hand. I suggest you either learn to take both good and constructive info. No one will spoon feed you info.

I learned by reading not by asking people every question I had. We will help you out but at the same time you have to do some research on your own. Use the search button in this forum and you will learn a lot.

Same here. When I decided to breed my geckos, I read all 3 sections of breeding, incubation and hatchlings front to back and then back to front! But I still asked lots of questions; but its more like getting reassurances. lol

p.s. I am reading up the bearded dragon sections in various forums now! ;)

Yeahh I'll admit there I was an ass, but I didn't like how she was saying, "No, you ARE breeding them." It seemed immature and rude, so I acted the same way back. Again, I don't care if everyone thinks I'm going to breed, Sid can't even mate, haha, so it's not even possible. What am I trying to hide, Reborn? I'm curious as to what you think I'm "hiding." I don't mind my first impression being bad, most of you are thinking I'm being rude when I'm not, it's just how I talk/type, so... oh well. :\

And... someone insisting they're right about me and my geckos isn't constructive information. I wish an admin would just close this thread, haha.

I came to this thread with the intent of writing a helpful reply. Upon reading your snide and incredibly out of line responses to others, I find myself without words to properly convey myself. Good job. You are officially the first person on this forum who has made me speechless.

(starts a round of slow clapping)
