I am not crazy about what some are calling "melanistic" or "hyper melanistic"... In all honesty, they look like turds with legs to me... LOL
However, when TRUE all black melanistics surface, I will jump at the chance to add some to my collection...

Funny thing, back in the 70s and 80s we only had wild-caughts to choose from, and many of those resembled some that are being called "hypermelanistic" now. My first female was such a gecko-the only reason I purchased her was that she was the ONLY female in a cage full of fresh imports, ALL of which were more "attractive" then she was! I bred her to the nicest male from that batch, and selectively bred her offspring away rom the darker appearance, just like everyone else was doing at the time:D .....
