The temp "should" maintain itself. There are thermostats you can purchase to regulate this.
The humid hide doesn't need to be any different from the style of the other hide so long as you keep it moist. A bunch of paper towels that are damp will do the trick & aid your leo in a healthy shed.
Since you're going for your first, you might want to check out magnetic rocks. They have 2 chambers inside the rock. The cavern section goes inside the tank & the 2nd half of the rock sticks to the outside of the glass using super magnets. If you stuff some Eco-earth in the top chamber & wet it, this makes a great humid hide. Not to mention it's cool to be able to take the rock face off & see your leo inside. Go for the large size. Use caution with the magnets which can & will take a chunk out of your skin.
Yes, you can buy lids at the pet store. Measure your tank before you go to save yourself a 2nd trip.
