it could be in referring to a pregnant female and they are waiting for her to lay. I know I have worded it like that before... "I'm waiting for the eggs to come." I have heard of people shipping eggs though, although I saw crestie eggs. I found this to be very strange, and personally would not fdeel comfortable having eggs shipped in the mail.
