the one that can not blink may have to be put down. they need to link to keep light out and to moisten their eyes. it also is just waiting for an eye infection to pop up

Here's some pic's of the liitle ones the one with the eye lids witch i though maybe worst of seem to have better odds now is more active it does have two eyes there more visible now and it blinks but it will have very small eyes slits.Yes i'm fully aware of the fact of at least one maybe both may have to be put to sleep  .They done there very first shed very well all by there self got some little crickets comming in the morning will see there sight is ok and if they have the killer hunting instinks.

It hurts to look at them Gary... I have been fortunate enough to not have hatched any deformities and I hope I never do because that would tear me apart. I seriously suggest getting a proportional thermostat and possibly changing your supplement regime. Can you get Rep-Cal products there?

i have also had major problems this year, i believe, are due to temp fluctuations in my incubator. thats now fixed thanks to a proportional thermostat, but i still had 3 out of 5 that hatched so far, with eylid deformities. i put one down right away, and think ill have to put one more down. the third is able to close both eyes, and seems to be growing fine, but it still really stinks.

i agree that the one with no top eyelids should be put down. within a few weeks, the eye will pretty much dry up and the gecko probably cant see well right now anyways. hope your clutches do better, and i hope mine do to!

BTW, here are two links with pics of mine if you want to compare, the second one in the second link is the guy that is making it okay.

gazz i am sorry to see those little guys with the deformities. chances are the biggest problem other than them being able to see to eat is the eyes drying out and infection. the quality of their life will most likely not be very good. i know it hurts to have to put them down but sometimes thats the best thing to do.
again i am sorry gazz

Hi kind people a little glimmer of hope maybe ? i have hunting bad eye leo's so i asume hunting leo's are seeing leo's so hurdle one jumped lets hope i don't buckle at herdle two :main_yes: .They've got nick names baby one (no top eye lids witch i've found he/she can sort of blink just hope it's enough to keep his/her eyes moist) so we'll see and baby two though having small eyes seems to look find just little eyes.Anyway baby ones name (one with no top eye lids) is-called goggles :wideeyed: .Baby two (one with small eye slits) is-called squint :chinese: .

Time will tell ?? finger crossed.

Alright I posted an add just like this. And I kno its a little late but I have a baby that was just born with no eye lids. And I can't even get her to eat. I have talked to several people and some say to put her down. What would be the best thing for HER?

In this situation, I would think that it is best to put them down right away before you give them names or get attached. It's not fair to the gecko considering the poor quality of life it will have. If you feel like hand feeding them for the next 15 years (if they even eat at all), what will you gain or prove? As sad as it is, these poor geckos need to be put down.
