ID a w/y?

How do you ID a white and yellow?
Is it different for single copy and double copy? (yes I realize its dominant)

I linked a thread where Ryan made a fuzzy video of our w/y boy. Typical w/y characteristics are high white sides, and yellow back. Usually any black spots hypo out to more of a lavender color.
It isn't co-dominant like mack snow, so you don't get a super form. One of the things breeders are testing out is how it combines with other morphs. In some of the early crosses it has been found that the w/y gene has some of the same traits as the enigma gene in that it enhances the traits of other morphs. One benefit is that it does this without the neurological issues that some enigmas can have.
I personally feel the knowledge of w/y crosses is in its infancy as it has only been around for a few years as compared to something like a tremper, mack or bell gene. There is still a lot of research to be done to understand it more fully.

i dont know. nobody can really explain what exactly defines a w&y. they may have only been worked with over here for a "few" years, they have been in europe for quite a long time (in comparison). after all the discussions and photos and whatnot i still do not see it. maybe it's just me though. if they enhance other morphs so much then why dont we see them? i mean where are the photos that when you see them you think, "damn, that w&y radar is awesome" and you KNOW for a fact there is another morph in the works (w&y in this case)

i just talked to Matt again last night and he told me he was about to do a video on the white and yellows. he told me the history of the w&y and what was bred to it in the beginning, and other things. Matt has a great understanding of how the genetics act in these animals, as he should, he has worked with them more than anyone in North America...there really is alot to the white and yellow, and i think his video will clear the air for alot of people. even the "doubters" should watch it, so they can see what is going on...seems like the "doubters" are the same "doubters" on the marble eyes too...some people are just like that because they cant afford them, or dont have em...then when "those people" get them, all the sudden they are the greatest morphs in the world, ha ha ha. oh well, everyone has the right to like what they like, but there are always the ones who are just negative on people animals, unless they are thiers...hmmm, wonder who that is??? ...NOT talking about you Robin....

OK, so now it seems that just because someone questions how the genetics of a morph work and what the defining characteristics of a morph are, that means they are jealous because they "don't have" or "can't afford" the morph? Um speaking for myself only here (LOL) I could have several W & Y's and probably a few Marble Eyes in my racks next week if I really wanted them to be. In fact I am adding a W/Y to my collection via a trade in the next few weeks because I am curious about them and want to find out for myself what makes them tick. The Marble Eyes that are available are all Trempers, otherwise I would most likely play around with those as well. If I could trade for them.

Advice: Be careful how much of that Kool-Aid you drink, it tastes great going down but you might feel bad about it later on when you realize it was rotten!

I have been refreshing like crazy to see what the repsonse to robins post would be! I am more of a lurker than a poster, but I have to say I do not see much difference in the w/y combos than their non-w/y siblings. No way am I going to take any sides on this just stating my opinion on this "morph".

Are you crazy? People disagree with me all the time and I have no problem with that. Shame on you for assuming stuff like that about me or anyone. And shame on you for posting what you did. If you had asked me I could have told you the real reason behind Matt's banning (since you brought it up). It had nothing to do with me liking him or not. Do you really think he would tell you the truth; that he violated the TOS enough times to get suspended for two weeks, and then he decided to make up a new user name and post a big F you to the site by posting a pic of his naked butt cheeks? Creating a new account to circumvent a ban here is against TOS, has always been against the TOS and will result in a permanent ban.

Wow this was quite an interesting read. I have dealt with and am friends with a lot of people in the community (not GF but herps in general). I am perfectly content with Kelli and robin being friends and backing each other up (which didnt happen in this thread at all). Quite frankly I think thats a commendable attribute of an individual. So obviously you have an issue with them, thats great...but publicizing all your feelings about someone on a personal level on the internet is quite childish. Also mentioning you were a professional mixed martial arts fighter has what to do with this? Your going to beat 2 girls ass'? Come on bro. Everyone on here has a past "job" but you don't see me telling anyone who I have personal issues with that I was a sniper in marines and conducted 3 combat deployments as a 0317...as if they need to be concerned. Back to the topic on hand...I would love to see what exactly is involved in a W&Y because I don't see a clearly visible indicator which is apparent in all W&Y that makes it a morph. I have seen some combos and they look nice...just curious as to the true genetic or inheritable traits involved.
