He's having a bit of diarrhea now... It was rather rough. :(

I worry if this continues dehydration is going to be a pretty bad for him since there is a good chance the parasites already made him dyhradted.

Try putting drops of water on his nose. Even a little taken will help. Is he taking his Reptiboost (I think that's what you're feeding)?

Yeah he is. I had just fed him and it went straight through him. It stunk too. I think he may have a bacterial infection now. Gonna call the vet tomorrow.

Here is a picture of his(her?) belly... I don't know if you can make it out but in his(her?) lower abdomen.... Please please please tell me I am wrong.

Am I seeing an egg forming in there?? It's a little firm there too. Am I just being silly? Please tell me I'm just crazy.:bigcry:

He (she?) is so freaking skinny. It hurts to look at those ribs. It really does. I might cry. For any new readers he was bought like this. Sick with parasites. I only say this because I'm afraid of being yelled at for not taking proper care of him or something.

**EDIT
I just took him out for feeding time, his eyes were badly sunken in and he is really unresponsive. :(

I've been following this thread and to see him(or her) is heartbreaking :( It's wonderful that he got an amazing owner who is doing everything possible though, unfortunately alot of people probably wouldnt have done everything you are doing to save him...I have my fingers crossed that he starts to improve...

Thank you. :)

He made it through the night and I'll be calling the vet in about 30 mins once they open.

I didn't mean to to quote myself. Derp.

None of the doctors come in until 8:30 am. They said I have to call their sister hospital and possibly drop him off and they will care for him until the vet arrives and assesses him and call me. I can then pick him up when I am able.

*and that's now the plan. I'm getting ready to get him on his way and getting dressed. So sleepy lol.

We will see what today brings.

I'll keep you posted.

*He's at the vet. Should call after he'd examined.

Ok vet called.

They soaked him and said he was doing better. I told them I tried that and while he would perk up for a bit he would eventually go back down. He is going to soak him multiple times during the day. I told him the gecko was stressed enough and it might not be a good idea but he said it should be ok.

Next, he now only weighs 2 grams.

They are treating him for dehydration with an kinda of an IV shot. Then the meds I mentioned before. They are also going to keep him all day and over night.

Crypto can look like that can it not?
Has your vet talked to you about possible humane euthanasia?

It hasn't come up yet. I've discussed it with forum goers but not with her. She is determined to save him or at least try.

When we caught the pinworms she said she checked for crypto but I wonder if the pinworms infestation was so bad (it was really bad) that it possibly hid the crypto and now that the pinworms are gone the crypto is coming out to play.

I plan to call her once I get off work. Give them a chance to try their stuff first before dumping possible crypto on them.

She is pretty sure he has crypto, while his dehydration is doing better his condition overall hasn't improved. I told her about his organs and his liver getting bigger and she said that she wants to be sure with a fecal but if he passes before that we are going to do an autopsy.

She said he passed something today but she could really call it poop, it was more if just mucus and goodness knows what else. They couldn't get a sample as he was in for a soak when he passed it.
She also told me to be prepared as she said his chances are silm, impossible if he does indeed have crypto.

Petco has also been a called and they are now on high alert, they will have all their geckos checked for crypto.

Crypto poop is mucusy boogers, that smell terrible.
Unfortunately if he DOES test positive for crypto the most humane method is euthanasia. Crpyto hurts, and once they get "pencil tail" there is very little we can do.
Fingers crossed he doesnt have it, youve done really really well with him.

Also, be VERY careful and wash your hands often with hot soapy water. You can catch it as well as other people in your family.

Well imagine that's why the vet is pretty certain it is since what he is passing is mucusy and is a little paler than the color of reptaboost with some lime green slime in it.

I appreciate you thinking I did well. It means a lot to me.

Now that I didn't know. I'm sure I'm clean now I just got up to my elbows in bleach cleaning his cage again. Will bleach kill crypto?

Bleach does NOT kill crypto.
Ammonia is best at killing crypto, as it is immune to chlroine.

I had a case at my store and Ive become very paranoid.
I threw away all carpets and real wooden decorations, anything that absorbs anything I tossed.

I have to go buy some, thank you. :) Stupid crypto. I need to go research this.

I'll probably do the same, thankfully its not much. Thankfully the tank was mostly rock stuff! Thank goodness.

I'll wash everything again with hot soapy water later. :)

Rocks absorb things too - some more than others though.
