I just got my third clutch of leo eggs EVER today. Put 'em in the incubator and took some pics immediately.

These are not only my first leo eggs, but my first REPTILE eggs ever! It's driving me nuts that every two weeks or so another clutch pops out when the first one still hasn't hatched!

I don't know how you guys do it year after year... maybe it gets easier to wait???

What are the parents? Oh and congratulations on healthy eggs.
Waiting on babies would drive me crazy tho,

It does not get easier to wait, but I have developed some obsessive record keeping tendencies that makes waiting easier:

I have one of those weekly "engagement calendars". Every day I write a little paragraph about what's been going on, mostly about the geckos. ALso, in the margin I list each clutch by female's initial and clutch number and then how many weeks.days since the egg was laid (e.g. tonight's entry starts L3 6.1, L4 4.1 etc). I circle the date when a clutch is laid and note it by name and number. I put a square around the date when an egg hatches and note that. I also have a computer recording system. That way, especially when there are lots of clutches, I can "engage" with my eggs and sublimate some of my waiting nerves in record-keeping. Try it, you'll like it.

The first clutch was laid on March 23rd, so I'm thinking they should hatch about the middle of May? The mother is a tremper female, hets unknown. I got her from a wholesaler at a show a few years ago, so who knows what her genetics are? the Sire is a Tremper Orange 66% het RAPTOR... who knows what else.

I'm planning on getting these babies up and running good and giving them to some nieces and nephews who want leos.

gotta agree with acpart...record keeping helps a wee bit. I've only had like 7 clutches (and most being duds) but I became obsessive with record keeping. I downloaded some computer software for free called Metzcal (anyone else use this?) and it keeps all my info nice and organized. One egg is at day 42 now so....annnyy day now there could be another little mouth to feed :).

I have only done this for about 4 years now and it hasnt got any easier for me.....but I am one of those impatient type people anyway. Waiting on crestie eggs is the worse. It took 64 days last year to get my first.....Im hoping they hatch a little earlier this year but I know I cant rush nature. I look in those little windows everyday, lol.

BTW congrats on the eggs!!!!!

I feel your pain, my first clutches should be hatching any day now and the wait is driving me nuts. Reptile eggs suck, at least with frogs you have tadpoles to look at. :D

At least my first clutch is noticeably bigger than the third one, so there IS progress being made. Also, this thread is helping to diffuse my impatience a little, as is my exploding mealworm colony, and the fact that I just put another leo pair together today.
