Ya some times my leo gets bugs stuck in her mouth
Just a thought... if this gecko's primary diet is crickets and roaches, it isn't unheard of to have a leg part get stuck in the mouth or throat which can cause pain and abscess. Those insect legs are covered with tiny 'barbs' that only point one way, which drives it deeper into the tissues (similar to a foxtail). Hopefully the vet will be able to get a good look inside the mouth and rule this out.
Yes, this has happened to one of my geckos, and another person I know had the same thing, only the insect part traveled up behind the gecko's sinus and eye creating a horrible abscess that eventually reached it's brain. It may sound far-fetched, but make sure your vet is aware of this potential issue. Check out this photo of a cricket leg:
I'll just come out and ask you point blank: are you the person from PA that was banned? I notice you are using an proxy each time you log on, which hides your location and true ip address. Be honest!
Lilith that was not me. I just told someone recently to use the slurry if you look below. I think the op's name was Kas.
I believe I saw a post here that the chitin of a beetle got stuck in the geckos mouth. let me see if I can find it.
I can't find it. There are so many posts and some are in the wrong sections. It was definately a mealworm bettle piece stuck like between the teeth.
At the risk of sounding extremely retarded, I must ask: What's the slurry? (lol)
Brooke, I am so sorry your thread got hijacked by a known troll on this website. My slurry recipe is designed for geckos that are convalescing while under treatment for an illness by a qualified vet. I know there are times when it's difficult to find a good vet, and hope you can get some help for your gecko.
