We had our Mack RAPTOR female ovulating like crazy in August, a successful mating almost immediately, and found fertile eggs by September. Our breeding season for 2010 was unfortunately the least productive season we've ever had, but we hatched these additional two this passed weekend. :main_thumbsup:

Here is momma, Serena, Reverse Stripe Mack RAPTOR (two full red eyes) from Paul Allen :main_cool3:

and daddy, Evrae, our Nova male that we produced in 2009

baby #1, hatched last Friday during a full moon, so thus he's been appropriately named Cabeus  his morph is in question..

and after first shed:

baby #2, hatched last Saturday, a RAPTOR (aberrant) named Talos

Cabeus is definitely either a Nova or Dreamsicle and whether or not the Mack Snow trait is involved will need to be confirmed through test breeding.. but what do you think? Opinions would be appreciated :D We hatched some Novas last season that were all very orange at hatch, each pictured below (pics were taken prior to first shed):

**the last one is Cabeus' Nova father as a hatchling

Considering the comparison to the above and how light Cabues tends to be, we are thinking Dreamsicle but of course don't want to necessarily assume anything either.

Dreamsickle, due to how white it is as a hatchling... Indicitive of the Snow gene at play. I'm leaning even more at Dreamsickle because of the orange spot that is starting to come in on the back, with what I'm sure will be a few more here shortly in a few weeks... Typical of nicer, higher end Dreams! Congrats, I say you have a very nice Dreamsickle on your hands, and a top notch one at that!

Thank you for the comments everyone  We are SUPER excited about these two, if Cabeus is a Dreamsicle, it will be our first ever :D

Maurice, Mack RAPTOR, really? I wasn't really sure, we did have a RAPTOR last year that hatched out pretty light like this one and there were no Mack genes in the parents. We definitely wouldn't be complaining though ;)

Here's a couple of updated pics..

**just want to note; yes, he did start to show some signs of MBD and has been getting daily doses of liquid calcium

and Talos

Hey Jess, beautiful babies! I'm having the same problem right now. one of my babies that hatched a couple months ago from my mack raptor x dreamsicle combo seems to be having an identity crises...she can't decide what she is, a dreamsicle or a nova. She hatched SUPER light, just like yours, and then slowly developed more of a pattern with more yellow... and I guess I need to test breed her to be sure. When you plan to test breed Cabeus, what do you plan to breed him with to prove him out?

Thanks Jorge! :D

Maia, thanks and yes, I've been seeing the updates on your lil' one and I know it's been frustrating! To answer your question, definitely not anything RAPTOR or het. RAPTOR since that will just keep the confusion going. My initial thought was breeding it to another Mack Snow to see if I got any Super Snows, but that would mean I would be working with a 25% chance to prove it out. So then I figure breeding it to a normal (or anything that doesn't have Mack Snow, RAPTOR, or Enigma genes) would be for the best. If it's a Dream, you'd be looking to get 50% Mack Snows/Mack Snow Enigmas from "possible dream" x normal. So proving out something that has a 50% chance is going to be the best way to go.

And actually, a Super Snow would be just as good if not better.. you'd still be working with proving out something that has a 50% chance as Super Snow x *possible dream* statistically yields 50% Mack Snow/Mack Snow Enigmas and 50% Super Snow/Super Snow Enigmas.. then even if it wasn't a dream, you'd still at least get 100% Mack Snow/Mack Snow Enigmas.

Naturally, we do not have any geckos that fit either plan since we do not have a Super Snow female nor do we have any normals.. go figure. We'll probably end up using our MSTA and working with a 25% chance to prove him out since that's all we have to work with.. but who knows, maybe we'll have a nice super snow female by next year
