is your vet a reptile vet? why is he prescribing anti biotics when fecals came back neg ?? antibiotics can be harmful if not necessary

yes she is a rep vet. She prescribed abx because it was obvious that something was wrong and that he wasn't feeling well.

I'm just having trouble with something.the fecals came back negative so why presrcibe something.That doesnt make sense does it?.What illness is she prescribing for if everything came back negative.Maybe other people can chime in with this.From what you've told me everything with your set up is normal and all the lab work came back normal.aside from some weight loss everythings normal.

Get rid of the light they dont need it, also try diffrent feeders like supers, Crickets, or even waxies.

The light isn't an issue. It isn't in use right now..

different feeders is a good idea.

The lethargy isn't normal.

She prescribed abx before the fecal was back. She can see that he is sick.

so , cryptosporid has been checked for and all her lab work came back negative right?. from all the info you've given me everything looks normal to me.Your basing the fact that she is sick solely on her weight loss ? some of my leos arnt active at night either.not all leos wander at night. some of my leos spend alot of time in their hides

If the temp was too high wouldn't they lay on the cool side? that temp reading is below the carpet too so it is likely a little cooler than its reading.


basing the fact that he is sick because he isn't eating, isn't interested in eating and used to be my best eater. Yes the weight loss scares me. We have 5 leo's and none of them have ever lost this much in their tail.

2 weeks on antibiotics with no change. I think it is time to put him down. How do you know?

It's a hard decision.... I've had to do it.... it hurts and I cried :bigcry: When there is no quality of life and they are suffering.... and it can also be a risk to others of possible contamination. It's just a hard decision

We put lightning down last night. It was time. He has put on weight even though he hasn't eaten in month. His spine was sticking out and his stomach was big.... His underside of his tummy was dark. I suspect a tumor or something growing in his tummy..to explain the weight gain.

We are all sad. First leo lost.
