Hey everyone! this morning i woke up and i knew what today was....Build the huge hatchling rack, now this rack is pretty much for all the baby corn snakes am going to have, but it will be used for Leopard geckos too, It holds 60!! THAT'S RIGHT 60 BINS!! 6qt Bins, there is space under the rack, right now its storage for shipping boxes! but later on i can add more levels if i would like, the rack is complete with Flex-Watt Heat Tape and a thermostat along with pegboard backing! only took One whole day to build. the total for this bad boy was.... Around $350 for everything but a Thermostat, i already had a Thermostat so that saved a bit of money.it was made out of Melamine board, (you know the classic white you always see) the local Menards here carries a few colors, Mainly being Pure white, Lighter wood grain, and Darker wood grain....(darker or "oak" as its called was used for this rack) and i LOVE it its HUGE its 6FT TALL!!!!

Thanks everyone, its Made out of Melamine, you have seen this stuff before, its The white board you see people making racks out of...well my local Menards (like home depot or Lowes) carries white, light wood grain and dark wood grain...same price for white, just prettier! and Yes it IS A TON to move! Flipping it up right, cost a lung! and 2 arms! lol

it looks really nice. we recently bought a metal shelf to make a 32 tub rack for my babies and adult leos. i thought about melamine but we didnt want the weight of it since hopefully by the end of the year we will be moving so even there i want to use the metal its easily built and moved if needed even though i have to keep the lids on the tubs but o well. lol.

doing the holes for the bins wasn't bad at all, took me a day to do them. I dont use a drill i just burn the holes in. much faster! it was taking off the darn Stickers! on the bins that took me forever!

Nice Rack! hope you used a protective breathing apparatus wile burning all those holes. I have done both drill and melt them. melting is a bit faster but drilling with a drill press leaves a cleaner finish and I can breath easy.

its Flex tape, there is a photo of it on the rack? and info? let me know if you cant seem to view the photos? i Love to melt the holes in i think its cleaner looking then drilling i just do it in another room with a fan, much faster and no mess left behind to clean up.
