from my mere experience of 8 years and what i have found on research is that you never feed a baby dragons meal worms until they're a least a year old it has to do with their digestive track being so short and the babies can't digest the skins or hard exoskeleton. in this article it compared geckos to dragons and why you can feed geckos mealies and you can't dragons.i will try and find the article for you it was done by a dvm. soooo it must have some truth.in my opinion i would never feed any thing to my babies that could possible be harmful.hope this helps.

To me its a myth.

I was never going to feed that to them but I did just to see and nothing happened.
Not saying your wrong but no harm was done to my babies.

to me the time put in to breeding and incubating is far to great of a risk to feed them something that might potential be harmful and there is a lot of alternative foods out there (silk worms, butter worms, phoenix worms, wax worms and so on soft bodied )so why risk it?

If I end up with these beardys(should unless something changes), Im guess their adults or close to it so should be okay to feed mealies im guessing?.

yes if they're a year old and feed sparingly it should be fine ...they're so many different things you can use instead of mealies. they love horn worms as a treat, phoenix worms, silk worms and so on check out the website(www.mulberryfarms.com) hope this helps and good luck with your new dragons..

Horn worms should not be a treat.
But to buy them every week will get pricy lol.

Those are my all time favorite bd food.

The Hornworm looks something like a caterpillar but can brag that its 68% protein, and only 20.7% fat. If your reptile seems sluggish, which they can be due to boredom with their usual meal, feed it a Hornworm. They have six times more protein than an egg, and nine times more protein than a rat.

well first off my adults get romaine, carrots, apples, mangos, kale, strawberries, and raspberries every day now they don't get all that at once i mix it up for them(different combinations) but there is vegitation every day..every other day they get either crickets, silk worms, butter worms, phoenix worms or super worms and for a treat they get either horn worms, wax worms or a huge roach.. when my female is either gravid or just laid she tends to get more treats then him.my babies i don't feed pellets at all so i can't help ya there but usually within the second or third day there eating vegys and feeding on 2 or 3 week oldcrickets...how about you?

romaine, iceberg (jkjk), colored greens, Squash Butternut (Winter) & summer,
Zucchini (raw), Beans Lima (canned), Raspberries (fresh) (rare has Moderate oxalates)...
I can give you the nutrition on every one of them.
Pellets
live food
crix, silk worms, horns, melies, Zophobas.

And some types off baby foods.
Its such a mix and jumble of what I give that I cant explain my ritual lol.

you mentioned carrots. I picked some up at the store and fed my beardie fern looking veggie off the top of the carrot, as I had read on a diet chart. But do you actually feed yours the carrot itself?
