I just read through this last night. Not every post, but a good portion of them.
I'm sorry that she has cancer, but I am glad that she is doing well.
Dogs adapt real well to having 3 legs.

I also am owned by an american pit bull terrier.:D

We had to get MIA's bloodwork done a little early this time because she had nausea and diarrhea. She had elevated white blood cell count, but after a few days on antibiotic, shes good to go again.

She'll have her last chemo treatment next week. I'm ready for all of this to be over. She had 2 treatments before the amputation and 3 to date. I'm not sure what her check-up schedule will be like after all this, but we'll just have to wait and see how all this goes.

I know this morning she was in a mood running around like crazy being bad. My dad didn't know she was behind the chair or something and stepped on her, and that was enough to start it. She was even crying and being pathetic when it was time to go to work bc my dad said 'Alright you ready to go,' which is her keyword for time for a ride, but he was talking to me. She ran around the house crying and looking at her seat belt for about 30 minutes before we actually left for work. I kept saying they had plenty of time to drive her around the block before it was actually time to leave.

Oh, and she had an X-ray done before her last chemo treatment, and they didn't see any growths, so as of now she's doing well. We're all just hoping she stays metasis free for a long while longer.

This would have broke my heart!

Glad to hear that she is doing better!

It's been a while since an update...

She's finished all her chemo treatments and is no on a chemo pill. She gets rapamune monday, wednesday, and friday, which was same as before. The actual chemo pill daily, and some other pill every other day. In addition to her daily vitamin/supplements. The chemo pill has to be handled with gloves, and if she licks anyone you have to wash your hands or hte area for 10 minutes. If she pees on the floor, it has to be scrubbed and fully sanitized, and she can't potty where the other dogs do.

Basically, I'm paranoid to touch her, and it'll be like this from now on.

She'll also get chest x-rays once every three months.

Whitney,
I am taken aback by how strong you and Mia have been through this entire situation...many people would have given up a long time ago. Your heart is so huge, and thank goodness Mia has an owner as wonderful as you are.

Things are pretty rough right now as far as caring for Mia and taking precautions, but you are doing everything perfectly. Your story is truly an inspiration for others that have lost hope. I wish you both health and happiness in the future.

Thanks guys... Just thought I'd update that we go in on Friday the 12th for her first chest x-ray since she's been off chemo drips.
