I just scrolled through a week's worth of Animal Planet programming, and honestly can't believe that anybody watches the channel.

Anyway, 12/20, 7-8 am is when it's showing next where I am.

When was that?

The only remotely educational show I can ever remember them airing was Mark O'Shea and they cancelled him quick when they figured out he wasn't going to leap around while shouting misinformation at the top of his lungs and mishandling animals.

Poor Mark O'Shea, the only serious champion for herps in that genre and he's delagated to the cutting room floor.

God I hate television. :D

Congrats on your feature on Animal Planet! I posted a thread of the same... my wife and I were featured on the same segment. I think it's great that we were all able to participate. Congratulations again!

Believe it or not, I haven't looked yet. I've been away for the weekend. I rarely watch Animal Planet for the reasons that people have already mentioned, though I think the Cats/Dogs 101 series does provide some good info. Based on what I was told, I think the show was thinking of "leopard geckos" when they said "geckos". When I get a chance to watch, I'll let you know if my guys made it on and which clips they were.

Sweet! I think that pets 101 show is really cute, I especially like learning all the strange facts they have on the different dog&cat breeds.

Personally, my favorite Animal Planet program is Fatal Attractions. The last one I saw was about this crazy guy who kept a bull American Bison in his HOUSE. omg.

I believe it is also airing Christmas Day as well but please if anyone has recorded it and could upload it to their pc and share that would be amazing!

So I finally got to watch the show this morning. A lot of the background shots at the beginning and the end of the show are of my geckos. The "chirping" leopard gecko is my SS male, Oskar, who tends to make noise whenever he's held. The shot of the baby without the tail is also one of my hatchlings who dropped her tail in the incubator. There's a picture of a gecko climbing on a really garishly striped purple shirt (my shirt, and my normal gecko Phoenix), and a few of Phoenix on my beige flower pattern couch. It was great to see them.

As for how we got on the show - the Animal Planet producers were doing some outreach last spring to see if they could find anyone. I actually posted on here about it. The company that shot most of the background stuff happens to be located in my (small) town and had contacted the local herp society whose president always calls me when something comes up about geckos. I contacted them and they came by twice in May to shoot the geckos (so to speak).

The show is likely to be repeated many many times so you'll have lots of opportunities to see it.
