The one I linked to is only like 5'' (the small one).
You need to find room because a moist humid hide box is a requirement.

Your leo will not be able to shed properly without it. :main_no:

Even if something else has to go to make room, you do need to have it.

it's not a "requirement." it's not necessary as long as when he sheds you mist his enclosure.

I have to agree with Euphoric, a humid hide is a requirement... what you choose to use is up to you. If you don't, you can end up with stuck shed, possible lose of toes, etc. And young ones shed often. Plus it is not easy to convince your leo to allow you to remove the stuck shed ... been there, done that! ;) And misting every day does indeed create too much general humidity.

One suggestion I have is getting a tupperware type top that fits inside the hide. Then place a folded piece of paper towel in it. Keep just the papertowel misted, and place that inside the hide. This way your leo can choose where it feels most comfortable. You can even look for a small terracotta planter bottom (tray???) to look more "natural". :)

i wasn't implying that you shouldn't have one just that it's not necessary. its still a good idea to have one anyway though, but my leos been fine the first 7-8 months i had her with no moist hide. I eventually made one though.

I mist a little too when I know they are shedding.
Trouble is, you dont always know.

Nearly all the literature says they need to have a humid hiding
box of some kind. And I know they like to use it alot even when they
are not shedding.
So yes, it IS a requirement. :main_yes:

And I Make his Cave moist because I mist it everyday.

That's a good idea, but the misting doesnt last long under lights and/or UTH's, it evaporates to soon.
A humid hidding box is usualy a container of some sort with a hole in it
for your leo, and some moss or vermiculite in there to stay moist for hours.

The humidity lasts a long time, and leos love to spend time in it, esp when
they know they are going to shed. ;)

Some folks just make one out of a rectangular tupperwear plastic container
with a hole cut out on top. I think it's too ugly, so I tend to use the fancy
expensive ones. :D Juding by your set-up, I would think you are the same.
You dont seem like the person who would want a tupperwear box in their
terrarium. That's why I posted that link! :)

If you read up on their natural history, you will find out that they burrow
underground or under rocks where it's cool and moist during the heat of
Afghanistan days.
A humid hiding box is designed to mimic that behavior.

Hello, I suggest you sell your 10 gallon and get a 15-20 gallon. Your gecko may need the room and it is a good idea to do so because you should have a humid hide. Just because he shed once, twice or even three times perfectly it doesn't mean there not a change of stuck shed. that way you are not taking any chance's. It will only cost you 15-20 dollars and I think its well worth it!
