Thanks for the warm welcome guys...:)

You must give us your equipment set up for your shots and your lightbox/shooting set up for your geckos specifically.

I use a Nikon D300, the 60mm macro f2.8 AF-S lens, and my SB600 for a light source. I have rigged a clear sterilite bin that I put either white or black poster board in and use that as a generic back drop. But even with the black poster boards, they don't have quite the true black look that your background has.

Please do tell!
Your pics are fabulous!

Hi,

Im using a D300 as well, with a 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55 VR kit lens.

For the lighting set-up, I just used a 22w office desklamp. The trick was I spot metered on the gecko so that the background would go dark. No background were used on all images. Just turn the lights off (in your office or reptile room) and spot meter. Thats it.:) I dont own any lighting equipment or even a speelight.

Thanks for the kind words Sir. I appreciate it.

Regards,
gid

Here is one shot that made my desk lamp evident. I made a mistake on positioning the lamp on the eye of the gecko. But I borrowed a Nikkor 105 VR macro lens here and for all eye shots.

Lamp positioning was off, but this would make a classic example on how to position the light properly.:)

You take really good photos. I love that mack snow albino enigma. I hope to get me some of those this upcoming season out of my pairings.

Oh wow! Not only do you have an absolutely beautiful collection of leos (that Enigma het RAPTOR is quite fetching!) your photography is some of the best I've seen! I really like that trio of the Hi-Yellow Het RAPTOR - the last one with his little forelegs dangling made me laugh. He's like "Uuurggh! Come here, floor." And the composition on the top one is just really attractive. Welcome to GF and I look forward to seeing more of your work and leos! :D

top is a bold stripe tremper albino and the bottom one is a reverse stripe tremper albino (reverse stripes come out of eclipses which is why you see reverse stripe trempers and RAPTORS)
