Tested positive for pinworms. Panacur in oral suspension once a day for three days, repeat in three weeks. Three drops for my three around 70g, 1.5 drops for my 40g female.

I got myself tested for parasites bc I was paranoid after working with reptiles and some crazy statistic about tons of people unknowingly having parasites and it came back negative lol yay!

That makes me feel a LITTLE better, but after googling "parasite pics" for a couple of hours, you kinda get paranoid...

The thing with dogs is that they walk around outside, lick their paws, and then it's all over. Or they eat $*** from other dogs that have worms. Then they get them. Also, they can get them from mom, if mom has parasites when she's pregnant.

Cats get them the same way.

We, as humans, don't lick our bare feet after walking around in the grass or sand. We also don't enjoy eating poop. And we don't lick each others rear ends, unless you're into that kinda thing.

Reptiles usually get them from feeder insects or eating from the same dish as an infected animal.

I said this in another thread, but here's the deal. You're not going to get pinworms from your herp, because it's a different strain of pinworm than humans get. Same with hooks and coccidia.

Crypto, however, is zoonotic. And you would KNOW if you had it. You wouldn't be able to leave the bathroom.

OK, that actually does make me feel better.

Not that I'm not tempted to dose myself with the panacur I got from Bean Farm just in case...:p

Glad I could reassure you. That means I did my job correctly. :)

Yeah, if you wanna deworm yourself, it won't hurt. If you do though, drink lots of fluids, it'll dehydrate you and it might give you the runs.

Seriously, LOL, some of the techs and doctors I work with do it all the time. It's nothing out of the ordinary for me. I wouldn't worry about it though, unless you plan eating something from your reptiles cage, or you plan on licking your geckos anal area or consuming his or her feces. LOL.
