yea i will get one soon. he is pretty active tho when I remove his hide he goes hunting.. one thing he hasn't pooped in like 5-6 days!! And a newbie question. do geckos pee?? or is it like in the poop with it all or something... I am thinking his hot side is toooo hot for him to voluntarily come out (me not taking the hide off him)....

Do you see the white stuff with the feces? It's the urate, which is the equivalent of urine.

Also, You'd know it was too hot if you had a digital thermometer with a probe. Remember they are nocturnal, so they'll hunt while you sleep. You shouldn't have to remove the hide to get him to hunt. More than likely, you are waking him up and while he's awake he sees the crickets or mealworms or whatever you're feeding.

Just leave him be. Make sure to remove any uneaten crickets after say 15 minutes. And buy the digital thermometer and the thermostat.

Are you talking about a Thermostat!? I advise you do get one, they start off at like $25. Under Tank Heaters can go past 100degress, I had an exo-terra that stayed at like 105 degrees, and YES they do work and it is advised that you get one.

Same here, i had too put some reptile carpet under so its not as hot :main_yes:
