We have two we rescued from the store and they are two of my favorites. The female is the most curious critter..she is so funny...a little dense sometimes..tonight she dove at the dish instead of the worms in the dish..but she is the most alert little thing..LOL

She is looking very well.
I need to post pics of the ones Ive gotten from chain stores. My two are looking beautiful! The third still have so much growing to do and Rusty's patty from the chain store is doing well too!
Great job, Khrysty!

glad to see you got him out of those wrong conditions its sad but atleast now its gonna have a great life with you. I recently picked one up at a local petshop here that wasnt in the greatest conditions also. matter of fact thats where I got all my leos but they are all doing great.

Buying something is not rescuing it. Hopefully the little guy doesn't die. (edit: Good to see it didnt die) I'm glad that he is in someone else's home now. But you may regret spending your money on a sickly animal from a shop cause all you really did is support the abuse the little guy was going through.

I wonder if you've read the rest of the thread. We've already addressed this.

my 2 cents on pet store geckos is that every where you look there is a sickly looking gecko even at expos you see them just becuz its from a pet store dosnt mean that you got a bad deal yes sometimes they arent taken care of properly but at least you have this beutiful gecko in your collection now and it will get some great care not all pet stores are bad ive seen some very bad ones and have helpd them by giving them care sheets that ive printd off in my own time and they have actually chaned their set ups some times they just dnt know how to care for them cuz they are their for the all mighty dollar but im rambling on now

like i said before you got a very nice gecko you should be proud

far side of sanity
if for every time u save a gecko and give it that much love and care, even if only for an hour, day, or weeks, it changes its life dramatically.
i take in rescues that people are going to "let loose" and such, and even if they dont make it the money and effort i put into them is worth it, because i know that for a small amount of time someone cared and loved them.
i think khrysty and joe did the right thing.

Thank you, Ariana, for being so supportive.

I can see both sides of the issue:

For this particular animal, our patternless we're calling Mallorie, we've done the best thing possible. We've given her a loving home where she'll live a long and happy life full of health and peace.

However, we've given a chain store business and, as such, have more or less condoned their particular sort of animal care and allowed them to put more in as much danger as this little one was.

Perhaps, when another person makes decisions, they consider the grand scheme of things. They don't look to the small good they're doing, but to the greater harm. On an impulse, for most people, this is not the case. While, I'm acknowledging that greater harm was done in the long run, I can't help but look into Mallorie's innocent little face and quickly fattening tail and think we did the right thing for her.

I'd appreciate it if no one else decided to berate us for that decision.

Sumer comes bearing great nws indeed. Mallory has flourished and is now a big girl at exactly 30 grams and roughly 6 inches. hooray!
