Very nice, Katie! A friend of mine does animal portraits, too, and she has a blog: http://figueroa-art.blogspot.com/

She had an exhibition in a local restaurant recently. It was free for her, but people could buy her portraits.

Maybe if you create a blog or free website, you can market your paintings in a bigger style, too...

I sold portraits, too, when I was your age, but I only did people ;)

Ive thought about it, but I dont have enough time to do a lot of paintings. My dad wants me to start my own business with it, but I have two jobs as it is - and finding time to do the ones I do now is hard. Its more of a hobby than it is for money.

You have an amazing talent!! I often have to get new art books in school very quick as I usually rip 2 or 3 pages out each time I need to do a homework because I get so frustrated!! Though I've done one on a chameleon before and it worked out ok. But it was nothing compared to yours lol

That chameleon was a high school project as well. About 6 years ago.

It's very interesting. I'm taking my final painting classes. But when you oil paint remember to do the darkest points first and then work your way with the lighter colors.

But when I say base I mean like some sort of initial back color.

I use turpinoid and black oil paint(and white) to make a varying degree of darkness. It makes a base coat on the canvas that helps with the layering involved in oil paintings.
