PINKY MICE?? Opinions on breeding diets

I was just curious to see what kind of experiences any of you have had with feeding females pinky mice either while mating or before breeding to add on some weight? Has anyone tried this and had a female not take to it?? Also how successful is this technique for weight gain?

Its great at getting my Girls to gain weight. Although I use them to help my Gals recover from Breeding.

I don't use them, and have no trouble getting my girls to gain their weight back.

I don't use them because frankly they weird me out (as a child I used to have gerbils), and like Debbie I have no problems with my females gaining weight back...just have to provide them with a little extra food for awhile.

I think occasional pinies are fine, but certainly not as a staple diet. Personally, I have trouble feeding pinkies because they scream when they are being devoured, and it traumatizes me...

Lol Marcia...you and I are too alike. After going to the pet store and asking if they supplied pinkies (they said yes) so I went home and watched a video on youtube of a one being fed to some large lizard...I about started crying lol. I am a total baby!

Oh it breaks my heart seeing those pinkies die back there, but your doing the pinkies a service by buying them becuase they only last about a week or less with out there mom so it's either a fast death or a slow one
