dopes he have a humid hide? also you can very gently rub it off with a q-tip. if it doesnt come easy do not pull it off because you can tear the skin. you might try misting him too

yeah he has one on the cold hide but not on the hot because it evaporates too quickly.......So should i try to pull it off with q-tip or will it come off on his next shed?

wet the q-tip and try gently. you might want to mist him as well. i find hides on the hot side dry out too quick and can aplify the heat.

You can probably just take hold of the loose end and pull it off. I do that with my geckos all the time.

If the q-tip doesn't work: mist the entire tank, leave him alone for a couple of hours, then gently try to pull it with your fingers.

I would actually suggest a humid hide on the warm side. I use paper towels and I wet them every night when i feed and give fresh water. I have never had an issue with stuck shed. All my girls love their warm humid hides. Try moving the moist hide to the warm side and letting you baby chill in it for a while then the stuck shed will easily come off.

Mel&Keith, wouldn't misting the whole tank put the leo at risk for a respitory infection? I have been terrified of extra moisture in the tank for that reason or am I just a spaz, hehe?

You do not want the humid hide on the warm side.... Humid hides should be used only for shedding and egg laying... The humid hide should not be some place they chill in or spend lots of time in... By keeping the humid hide on the warm side you can potentially run into the very problem you are terrified about...

If the entire cage is misted, thats fine as long as it dries out in a few hours...

Anyway, that is a simple stuck shed and it can be easily removed with your fingers...

Good, I was about to say sometimes a tiny bit of shed after a long period of time of no shed, means a full scale shed is on its way.
