While my experience level is low BUT.... I still have my +12 DEX Thermostat and my Blessed mealworms of Agamemnon that give all my geckos +4 STR, +6Endurence, and -3 DEX. So Im ready to take on the dark king if his minions come to town. I will save the Beer Wenches and Plow Surfes. :D LMAO ahh 6AM on a coffee buzz

This poll is a little silly. I have 30 plus years experience in keeping geckos. I got my first gecko when I was 3.
That does not make me a good keeper.

Now as far as real experience, learning as much as possible about the species, their care and requirements and successfully keeping them, that is an on going process that started about 8 years ago and I hope it never ends.

To me it does not matter how much experience you have, it is more important how much you are willing to learn. This hobby is ever evolving, what was common and acceptable just a few years ago is no longer the norm. I am glad that I can offer my experiences for others to hopefully learn from.

Most of the information available about keeping geckos is opinion not scientific fact.
No one persons word is the gospel. Read as much information as you have available and decide for yourself what works best for you and your animal.

Just my humble opinion.

We have less than a year of experience with our geckos but we do a lot of reading on them and get great information so we feel like we have more experience then some people think we would have with only owning or geckos for 5 months.

As I said, just idle curiousity on my part. I think the results thus far are yet another indication of just how incredible the explosion in interest in herps has been over the last decade!

You're of course correct, and an open and inquisitive mind is at least as valuable as experience in making a good keeper. But silly? I'd say perhaps-but less so than some we've seen recently:main_rolleyes: ....

Very much agree.:main_yes: I know alot of people who have had geckos for a while but don't really know anything about them, whereas those who may have just gotten their geckos but have done alot of research are very knowledgable. I think this poll is just mostly curiousity regarding how long people have had their geckos.

I have alot of experience in herps and yet not enough.....

I voted 25 years because I watched a few breed in my window in houston when I was 11 :) I picked her up and she laid eggs in the cage , but none hatched.

Years Geckos have Gathered People

A Gecko gathered me up 2 years ago, but demanded if I desired to keep her I would have to observe, read, search, and reach my own final opinions on what was good for her to have a long stay. She whispered, " Gecko Gatherings, Gather People."So IMHO...
2years of my caring, 4 years of knowledge, 8 years of cleaning poop.
This is probably too much info but what's any opinion without a bit of "humor?" Huh?
