the only thing i wouldnt be sure of is them "bouncing" off the plastic durning shipping... *shrug* i know when we ordered some they were also just a mesh bag and newspaper and thats it... sure didnt look like there were 1500 in that lil bag... but once we dug it all out... thats a whole lotta mealworms! lol

i would think if your carefull enough you could work that out using the cups... just gotta pack them semi tight... but not take up all the air space too... lots of news paper and such... maybe some paper towels around the cups to prevent hard smashing on the plastic? *shrug* i bet it shouldnt be too hard to figure out ;)

I think the best way to package mealies in in a deli cup with a mesh top filled with bran. Also you can put them in cricket box(uses to ship crickets) with some potatoes for water and egg crate inside. Those seem to be the best. When we got ours that were in a bag with news paper, half were squished in the news paper and it was a pain getting them out of the news paper.

That is how we got ours to. We bought 10,000 when we started our colony and they came in 3 mesh bags. We had to spread newspaper out all over our dining room floor and get them out of the mesh bags. It was a huge pain in the rump. I would think that the deli cups filled with bran would be alot easier to deal with. As others have said you would need to pack the box with newspaper to keep them from sliding around and bumped alot.

Do you think we can get our SS sooner?

I'm kinda thinking the same thing... with shipping from any store nowadays, there is 7-10 day standard shipping, rather than the usual 5-7... I'm getting nervous about my gift not getting there on time!

I don't think most people would mind if it came a few days after the holidays. Send a card before the holidays saying that it will be on the way right after christmas. As others have said if we have a gecko on our wish list it will be after the holidays when we get that . Hey waiting is half of the excitement anyway. Its kind of like when you were little and the holidays was full of excitement. As a grown up it gets more hectic then exciting so this is FUN!!!!!

Just though this was worth mentioning.
Ebay is having sales this time of year and I keep getting coupons from them. The other day I got a 40% off coupon, but it was like a 5 hour time limit so just watch out for those coupons and you can save BIG. Mostly they are 10% off, but that is better than nothing and with that you can save while buying your SS something.
