They're different sexes so I don't think they're the same gecko. It stinks that anyone can let a gecko get into that condition anyway. I have no idea why you would get a super thin gecko and then try to sell it a week later.

Overbreeding, and rock bottom prices make leos too easy of an impulse buy for the everyday petshop hopper. When you consider that most morphs these days are getting sold at under a 100 bucks makes Leos( to the uncaring) a expendable goldfish without the water. Take a look at it from the average buyers point of view. They see an animal for 25 bucks that by what the pet dealer tells them is super easy to take care of, and well heck if it dies we can always get another one because the petshop always has them in.

In a Galaxy far, far away...
that makes me so sad. My 1st leo looked like that before he died, and we even had to forcefeed him. I hate it when people are so stupid as to not take good care of an animal whose life is in their hands. For this year's science project, people did a whole bunch of porjects on like, salamanders. So many of them died, and they just laughed.

And they were taking care of tadpools, and one girl thought the worms were disgusting so she wouldnt feed it. Another girl's mom threw it out because she thought it was dead. The last girl's is still alive but she said she stabbed it with a knife to see how squishy it was.

People these days are so...i'm not even gonna say it. :main_angry:

It is sad... I had someone email me one day, and asked about impaction. She had her geckos feeding on 5 crickets every 2 weeks for 13 years on sand and 70-80F temps. The pet store told her that's how to care for leopard geckos, and she didn't care to look up any other information. Now at 13 years old, she's bumped the geckos temps, feeding, and switched to a different substrate bc one was impacted.

Sometimes people don't know, but in a lot of cases, they do know but don't care.

The two geckos are different. The patterns are different and the fauna gecko is twice the size as the geckoforums one.
