She's breathing too hard (help!!!)

My little Rosalie is breathing hard, and i think she's making a clicking noise. I read that it could be overheating. I took her out of the warm water, and its still goin on.

A clicking noise could mean that she's aspirated (inhaled) water or has an upper respiratory infection.

this could be a respiratory infection. Which is caused by not enough heat over a period of time and/or exposure to too much moisture. What are your temps?

wait took her out of water... were you bathing her? Maybe she just got some water in her nose or what not. Not sure what you can do about that.
How long was she in the bath? Was the water hot or cold?

the water was warm, but might have been warmer than usual. She was in teh water for about 45 seconds before i noticed her breathing and immediatly took her out. She's breathing a little bit better, but definatley not normal.. Moving more.

Should i put her in water while she's shedding? You know how when you have chapped lips, and your skin opens up? I kinda saw that on her skin.

But back to the breathing, it's not normal. She's active though, and she's breathing more, but still. I'm really worried.
by the way, how long has this Health Forum been here? I've never seen it before.

are these lights NEVER WORKING? She has her heat pad. She has her lights. I just bought a 60 watt red heat lamp because the other one wouldn't go past alot. Time to do more research. Thank god it's not a school night.

Leopard geckos dont need lights.Bump up the heat to 90-95 degrees

I would put a new battery in your thermometer and maybe buy an extra one to double check your temps. It really does seem like it should be over 82 with a lamp and UTH.

Yes, something seems amiss there.

And again, the UTH alone should be *more* than sufficient to get above the low 80's if it's working properly and the right size.

And the thermometer is still recording low temps on the hot side? If yes, I'd have to agree about making sure the thermometer is reading right.

Where is your thermometer? Are you checking ambient air temps or is this the surface temp of the floor above the UTH on the warm side?
