Thank you so much, it was one of the last things I made, I could just watch people make glassblowing pieces all day! It's so freaking hard though

Thank you so much! It is such a fun and rewarding hobby to use recycling materials. :) I sold 2 of my skulls and actually became depressed about it and had to remake them. LOL They each have names. :) Usually around halloween time you can find paper mache skulls at Michaels, and you can decorate your own, they are really fun!
Ninja: That glass blown glass is TRULY GORGEOUS!
Bubbles: Love that wolf it is beautiful!!
Embrit: Wow!! so delicate and pretty!
Dimidiata- Love that 3d origami! :) Looks like it requires a lot of patience!

You are all so talented :D

I adore the toilet paper snowflakes - I do stuff like that with my children every year to add to our decorations keepsakes box.

Now glass blowing - that is something I would LOVE to try. We have a factory near us in the UK called "Langham Glass" where you can pay to go and blow your own glass piece to bring home. Have asked to go for my birthday :D xxx

There's certainly lots of beautiful works of art in this thread, and such a huge variety of media and styles!

I actually just uncovered some of my old works, buried and collecting dust in the spare room :main_laugh:

Looks like we have several good artists here on GF

I guess I will throw some of my work up. I am mainly a charcoal person so most of my decent work is done in that medium. I have experience is just about everything since I am a art ed graduate and art teacher. The first 2 are my most recent drawings from this year. They are about 2' x 3'. The last 2 are a couple years old. The portrait is 2.5' x 3.5' and the last one is 4' x 3'. The last one is a master artist study of Ribera's "The Martyrdom of St Philip"

Justin those are amazing!!! Wow! I absolutely hate using charcoal, I've never been any good at it haha, but if used correctly and combined with amazing artistic skill it can create beautiful work like yours!

Thanks Emily! What you said really makes me feel good.

At your age, I don't even know if I knew what charcoal was. I had worked constantly in pencil and color pencil. My skills weren't that great but were good for my age. What I am trying to say is that it generally takes years of practice to get really good at what you're doing. As long as you continue working with any medium or style, you will master it. Keep working in charcoal because I find it fantastic. Anyone who really understands value should be able master it. Your skill level is good for your age so keep practicing and you'll be amazed what you can do. I really like your drawing of wolves.

You're very welcome :) So I guess it is true, practice makes perfect! There was probably a time where even Picasso was learning to draw :D your years of practice really paid off! I'll keep trying and hopefully come close to being decent with charcoal, it really is a beautiful medium to work with(even though it's messy as heck xD) thanks! I had to do that drawing for an art class, I really had no idea I could even draw something close to that, especially shaded! My form of shading has always been outlining a picture with a dark shade of a color, and filling it in with a lighter shade of that color :main_laugh:

Sam, oil pastels are fun! Post some pictures of what you're working on :D

Looks good Cody. I am a realist so anything in the other directions is something I find more challenging. What is the dimensions of the work? Looks to be about 18" - 24" square. Have you done a test print of it yet? It seems that it could be possibly more balance on the top of the then the bottom. A bit more white areas may be needed on the bottom but not after a test print is done. Either way, your work looks good.

It's 36x36, thanks so much btw. Test prints tomorrow hopefully. Then I can see what work needs to be done. ( probably a lot) lol

After a few years of only doing realism in every medium, I want to push outward and try more abstract arts. You know?
