I've changed some of my tanks again. Here's a couple of pics. Also I suggest we make this a sticky thread. Seems like a good idea to have one thread where we can all show off our cages and get insporation from others. Anyone else agree?

My 1st attempt at creating scenery :)

The "warm" hide is the entire left side, the cooler moss hide is on the right and I'm on the look out for a better container, one that will fit under the 1st floor and stairs and wont be as noticeable. Also need a new background. This 20gal tank currently houses 2 of my geckos.

Some cool vivs here. Am looking to build a new one for my leo. Here is my 1st attempt at a DIY. Since I got some ideas from this thread, I decided it would be fair to share mine:

This is how my gecko cage looks currently:

I know it's a bit confusing... :p I forgot to mention that there's a heating pad under the big hide on the warm side... :D

Is there something I can do to improve it? :main_huh:

got a few PM's but cant reply to them as i dont have enough posts.

hides - the one on the right is a stryofoam box (minus 1 side) and the left is an empty plastic container, covered w/ white elmers glue (mixed 50/50 w/ water) and covered with sand to give it some roughness. this helps the sand and clay powder mix to stick to the hide w/o falling off.

the last pic is looking through the front of the tank and into the warm hide.

substrate - a mix of clay powder, sand and water. i think it was 60% sand and 40% clay powder. if you want clay powder, buy the cheapest cat litter you can find. VERY IMPORTANT: make sure the ONLY ingredient is clay powder - you dont want any fragrances or antimicrobial additives. put the litter into a coffee bean grinder to powder it and mix well w/ sand. wet the sand so it is a bit thicker than oatmeal and shape the substrate. i let this dry for 3-5 days or so before adding my gecko.

after it dries, it is almost as hard as a rock.
