The wife likes the geckos but she's not into them as much as I am. She supports me, but at the same time gives me limits as to what I can do. I would call that fair.

Sounds like my situation, except my wife does a poor job at limiting me.:D The only things really off-limits are snakes, spiders, and she's not crazy about scorps either...I make sure she can get what she wants generally when she wants it, so I get away with a bit more...:main_yes:

I selected "Works side by side with me" and "Complains just a little".

Although he is not as interested in reptiles as I am, he helps me sometimes and cares a lot about the animal's well-being. He feeds the animals when I'm too tired and although he doesn't dare to handle them or doing any delicate tasks, he bothers me when I don't do what I should (his most repeated sentence is "...But you promised you would clean the cages today!", he is doing that now in fact, lol).

He doesn't care about the expenses the geckos we have now generate, but he complains when I talk about adding another animal to the collection. It takes me some time to convince him about it.

Even so, I guess I'm quite lucky.

I chose works side by side, complains just a little, and other........b/c technically steve isn't really around much to work side by side with...but he would if he was here....and he "complains" b/c we're into different morphs of leos and different species of other reptiles....and I'm the one with all the animals right now...so pretty much whatever I've got is what he gets to play with when he's around...lol

My wife is suportive in that it is a hobby that I enjoy. As long as I take care of all my other responsibilities she is ok with it. She does complain a bit when I am on the computer too much. I cant help it always checking for updates, peoples new geckos and all the other good stuff. She does how ever pitch a fit when there are loose crickets in the house, so I am very careful to get them before she sees them...LOL.

My husband loves the geckos as much as I do, to the point that he kisses and talk to the geckos too. He doesn't mind that I breed worms at home, the only thing that he doesn't support is breeding roaches! But as long as I don't make him put his hand in the roach bin, its fine...lol.

Hey Fe! You should of put Parents and Family up there aswell. Mainly because I'm single at the moment. I'm 19 dependent college student so I live with my father. He doesnt care that I have all my lizards as long as I take care of them. Which of course I do. He gets nervous when i have to "talk" to him. He knows I'm gona tell him I'm getting another. He never says no but always says you better be saving some money. My father is actually very supportive of my hobby or anything else i do. Hes actually taking me to Daytona next year and is gona help me shop for a new additions to my Blue Tongue Skink project. Actually as I type we are formulating a plan for a trip to the next white Plains show. He loves my hobby because I love it. You cant ask for anything better. I love my dad.

Thanks to Phil and Christine my wife is now all about it. We went to thier house and now I have been able to build 3 racks, buy a NS incubator, 75 ft of flex, and two herpstats. She is also buying a female RERS to go with the Raptor I recently got. Simply put I really, really, really like Phil and Christine.

I am entirely on my own with my reptile keeping and as long as I don't talk to my BF about "the lizards" he looks the other way and pretty much acts like he doesn't know that they are here
That is quite a feat considering that there are tanks of them all over the house-lol

Honestly though-If I was unable to care for them-he does love animals enough that I believe he would take care of them for me until I was able

Thankfully that hasn't happened yet

He did drive me to Tinley two years in a row and rummaged through the antique shops around there until I was done

My husband is not a big animal lover, but has been amazingly supportive. He even put together my website. He seems interested when I show him new ones and has offered to help with shows! Not bad!

I got into leopards because my wife used to have them and wanted some more. I am know why more into geckos then she is and she likes my ideals I have but I get the complaining of cost and room alot. But even then I still kinda do what I want and do it anyways lmao. Some times I might delay it a little or get very creative like I did yesterday hehehehe.

I started out just having my Bearded dragon, Arwen and my husband saw a cute little gecko "on sale" at a local Reptile show and decided to get him. He had me look up the husbandry for the little guy and that was it we were both hooked!!!! I am soooo lucky that we both love lizards. When you go into our bedroom it is wall to wall tanks ( we don't want anyone to be alone somewhere so we make room inthere, LOl. One more tank and we will be the ones to have to sleep somewhere else. We have 14 tanks in there!

I'm out of town for the week and my husband, who is not that into the hobby, is taking care of the whole crew. I gave him a modified schedule where he mostly has to deal with water, poop and crestie food. I really appreciate what he's doing for me.

Thats a great point lol. I no longer have too deal with that one anymore. I bought a shelf and all the leopard tanks are all in 1 area instead of strung out all over the place. I also rarely feed them crickets. My wife mainly complained about the cricket making their noise while we were trying to sleep at night because I had 3 gecko tanks in the bedroom opps!!!!!!!! lol

She's the one who started this all.

It all started with one little snake. The next I know she has 36 snakes, mostly ball pythons.

I always support her activities and like reptiles myself. I have about 15 lizards, mostly bearded dragons.

i am too young to have a significant other :D. its my mom that is the problem. im not allowed to breed cuz mom doesnt want anything to happen to our geckos or the babies and she said i cant get another gecko cuz my room can only support two 20gal.... But if we GET RID of some stuff we have instead of acting like pack-rats, we MIGHT be able to fit another tank or two....mothers
