Starting to get a bit discouraged here...

Well...here I am waiting on clutch #1 to hatch. So far it has been 53 days at about 85 degrees (give or take a degree)...and nothing. I don't open the incubator at all, thankfully I have one of the mini-fridge models that I can look through the window...but anyways...

I thought they would have made an appearance by now? I just kinda got that sinking feeling in my gut, and unfortunately my gut is usually correct.

I do have 4 other clutches in this incubator that i'm going to worry about too if I don't see some action soon.

Sigh....Just needed to vent.

I incubate at 85 degrees and haven't had one hatch past 49 days. All of them hatch 43-49 days with the majority of them at 44 days. Your give or take a degree could extend your incubation time out a bit. I would agree with Marcia and just take it easy for now. I wouldn't freak out until the eggs start to stink and get moldy. They don't take long for that to happen if they are bad. How are your eggs looking? Still white and plump? I hope things work out for you.

The eggs themselves that are at 53 are huge and look great. The rest are still very plump, and very white...no signs of going bad at all...

Last year I had about similar hatching times as you, Justin...but this year is much different.

Now here's another thing... I made the switch from a hovabator with a helix thermostat that I used last year to the Exo-terra fridge incubator (forgot the model)...the temps according to my temp gun are accurate, so i'm not sure what's going on really...nothing else has changed.

It may be that the little difference in temps from this year to last year are just extending the incubation period a bit. It doesn't sound like anything is wrong since you have nice, healthy, big eggs. How's everything else going with the breeding season your way?

Dont worry, there will be 2 less eggs in the bator soon and 2 new hatchlings to take care of. You are not past the worry point yet and they are probably just gonna be some nice healthy babies.

I do incubate at lower temps than you but I've had leo eggs at 82 go over 9 weeks (7 1/2 is more usual). I've had 2 clutches of AFT eggs that hatched in 72-74 days in the same incubator that hatched them in 60 days last season at similar temperatures. Hang in there.

I am right there with you... I am on PINS and NEEEEEEDLES for my next two to hatch.... I have looked in the bator at LEAST 10 times a day for 4 days now. "/

One of the eggs is sweating. I don't have good experience with eggs that sweat. But, I will try to stay positive...

::goes to peek @ incubator again::

OK you guys... you know that opening and closing the incubator that often will cause the temperatures to fluctuate to the point of mortality. Patience, grasshoppers!
