very fat tail - is this normal??

One of my female geckos, Kira (gravid now), has a huuuuge fat tail. It's almost as broad as my thin gecko's whole body. She can still walk with it, but it must be very heavy for her :main_laugh:

Is this normal, or do I have to worry that she is overweight?

Normal? Probably not. Reason to worry? Definitely not.

I have a female LVPA in my collection that is an outstanding eater. She has the fattest tail of any of my leopard geckos. I think some just store more fat deposit in the tail than others. Shouldn't be anything you have to worry about. Be glad the Leo's so healthy! :main_yes:

great lookin tail they store there calcium in there tails so noting really too worry about it dude ...

I try to keep mine at about that weight makes em good candidates for breeding programs as they will stay healthy

Hehe, mine looks very similar to yours as far as weight goes. She seems happy enough, but I did worry about her being overweight till just now.

Yup, leopard geckos are known for their fat tails, it's more of a problem when the tail isn't fat Of course, obesity can be a problem for any creature, but your gecko doesn't look obese at all. Very beautiful leo

We have one that the vet put on a diet, LOL. He is a stubby little SHTCT and he was 94 grams. He is down to 89 and still looks like a butterball. Your girl looks good.
