Well this is something we will never agree upon and I just wish you will have a heart for the animals he killed and he should never be aloud to play in the NFL again and if he does well he will get his bell rung alot I hope.

I agree, it just shocks me that someone who breeds animals would feel that he has served his time after what he did.

I'm gonna say this one time, loud and clear, so you completely understand what I'm telling you!!!

Leave my breeding the hell out of this subject! One has NOTHING to do with the other! :main_angry: That's taking it WAY TOO FAR! I don't support his actions, I simply think he deserves a second chance because he's served his sentence! Period!

You cannot be sorry for something you intended to do.

Guess what? Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks he deserves a second chance. :main_laugh: Hate to say "I told you so!", but...

Just because people with no connections to animals are able to brush off what he did does not make it right.

Perhaps I was just holding you to a higher standard since you are a breeder and was SHOCKED by your opinion that he should be forgiven for shooting, electrocuting, drowning and hanging animals. I was shocked. That is all.

What gives you any right to judge me simply because we don't share the same viewpoint on a topic, regardless of what it is? You don't know one thing about me, therefore how can you judge me?

Trust me, my "standards" are just fine! :main_angry:

You put your opinion out on a discussion forum, do you expect people not to discuss your opinion and the situation ?

If you do not want to talk about your opinion or the situation or be judged as you call it. Then do not put your opinion out in the world where it is to be discussed and scrutinized.

I have a right to discuss my opinion on your views if you put them out.

Just my 2 cents.

I get tired of people saying that people in sports or movies should be held to a higher standard becuase of what they do. He made a mistake and he paid for it. Everybody should get a second chance. How many of us can say we never made a mistake? Where would you be in live if someone didnt give you a second chance? These people are NOT role models at all they are people who do things we injoy! I take pride in being a role model for my kids. I hae make plenty of mistakes in my life and I am thankful that I have been given second and sometimes third chances. They should not be held to a higher standard parents should be!!

This has nothing to do with the subject at hand but I feel that I need to address the tone of this thread.

Mistakes, are mistakes, torturing and killing animals was not a mistake he intended to do it. Sure people make mistakes. However there is a line where it becomes so malicious it should not be forgiven and I honestly do not think someone capable of doing those things he did is actually sorry for them, he is just sorry he got caught.

While it is nice that you are a great role model for your children. However some kids do not have parents that are there. They look at the highly successful visible people to give them hope to get out of the situation they are in.

Can you see that ?

I do understand that not all kids have parents at home to look up to. The problem is that people try to use superstars to take the place of parents. Is it terrible what he did? Yes it makes me sick to think about it. But it is a choice he made knowing that it is wrong and he paid for that choice. And it is also a choice to forgive and give that person a second chance no matter what.

I personally do not think it is people, I think it is kids that look to them, people just recognize that they do (some do not).

Many superstars come from bad situations and they got out because they looked to superstars and tried to emulate them. It is a fact.

That is why Leagues have a code of conduct, thats why even though I do not agree with it the NFL TD celebrations are kept down because it is looked as poor sportsmanship, it is because of the kids.

While you may not agree that anyone including kids should not look to superstars in that light, they do. It is the only hope these kids have sometimes. It kills me to see someone that has done what he has done and seen by kids as serving very little time for doing the horrible things he did and then get back into the league to make millions.

Do you think his punishment was just ?

One question for you. what is it telling the kids if we dont forgive someone when they do something wrong?

was his punishment just? I dont know its not for me to say. Hopefully he learned something and will make better choices.

I think there is a line where things can be forgiven. I guess it comes down to where you draw that line.

Will you forgive anything ?

I personally feel, electrocuting, hanging, drowning, and / or shooting animals because they did not perform well enough when you put them into a situation like he did crosses the line.

I really do not think someone that thinks like that or could do that could ever be sorry, they simply lack compassion. I would rather see Vick rotting in jail never to be forgiven then a kid see and say "Wow he did these nasty things and he was forgiven, and I will be also". Rather than thinking wow he really got punished and force them to look at why he was punished so severely...

I think it comes down to where you draw the line.

first let me say that i hate the eagles and i live 45 mins from phili. i hate them so much that i dont even want them to have Vick.

ok so i just skimmed through this and i agree with a lot of things.... this is hitting me on a personal level. i know it was addressed.. sorry brandon.. they are roll models...... i am a teacher. i am a roll model. Vick is a NFL super star.. looked up to by more kids across the US and even the world than i will ever even see in my class room. Vick is a Roll model. lets say when i was 17-18 yrs old and i gave any excuse i could to have dog fights, be it culture or just cause i could... i would not have even been aloud in collage to begin a career in education. dont get me wrong.... there are A LOT of athletes that have committed some sort of crime or another. but as much as i hate to admitt it... i cant think of any that involve taking pleasure in the hurting, maiming, torturing, and killing of animals. this man stood around the ring and cheered and yelled and out of pure mallace rooted for animals to hurt eachother. he ENJOYED it!!! i do not condone of any illigal activity, but IMO vick (and any other athlete/excon) needs to pay his dues by doing what every other excon does. get a real job. not back in the spot light where every child on earth can see.... "if i have enough money i can do what i want"..... instead of "hurting animals, and other ppl is wrong". when your in the possition any major athlete is your a role model whether you want to be or not. and teaching our youth that if you though enough money at it you can do what you want, is just wrong. personally i will no longer be watching the NFL, just like i havent watched MLB or NBA since i was 12. looks like ill be sticking with my NHL and UFC. there seems to be less ex cons..... or more forgivable crimes anyway...

PS. my spell check doesnt work so i appologize for any wrong spellings.

pss. i would also like to add (and this may sound like im contradicting my self) that if Vick was told he could never EVER play in the NFL again... but still chose to go around and speak to children..... then that would show he was doing it because he did change. but he decided to do it after he was told he was aloud to play in the NFL again.
