Spyke,

personally I would not care if they were the pope if they are using a substrate that has a track record or even a real possibility of causing problems for the reptiles, then I know I would think twice about what they say or recommend.

I am not an expert and not sure if this is the case, however why would you not use newspaper or paper towels just to be safe especially in breeding projects ?

I would buy from a site that sells for classroom studies. I found one that sells around 500 for super cheap IMO. When I find the link again I'll post it.

Phew. I'm so glad that I started breeding my last 100 mealworms I had before the shortage came. I know have 5 pupae and 2 beetles, plus many mealworms that are still turing into pupae as we speak..

I wasn't trying to get into the substrate debate.
We do use paper towels for our leo breeding projects. the store was using wood chips in their display cages.

anyway this thread is suppose to be on mealworms not wood chips so back on track..
