This is so upsetting to me and I'm trying to figure out what happened. Yesterday I was feeding the geckos and opened a babies tub to find blood all over and the baby was dead.
He was 4 months old and over 50 grams. He ate and pottied every single day. He just shed 2 days before this and was always active. He was kept in a tub, so he couldn't have fallen. I almost thought prolapse, but nothing was out. However, it does look like the blood came out from the vent area, not the mouth. I can't figure out how he was fine before bed and dead by the next afternoon. I've been a sobbing mess since yesterday. I looked him over and there were no injuries outside at all. Does anyone have any ideas? He's only ever had mealworms to eat and usually ate 12-16 a night. Temps were fine and he's kept in a rack with many other geckos. Everyone else was fine. He never lost any weight and ate up until the night/day it happened. He went to the bathroom that day, too.
