So she started to ovulate, then ovulated again, and the second set started to form into eggs before the first set???

first set is developing into the eggs, the second set higher up is her ovulating for the next clutch. They ovulate before each clutch, she just looks to be going early with round two.....

I know that's how it works, but that is not whats happening. Every day I check my females. She started to ovulate, she looked the same for 3 weeks, then about 4 days ago she started to develop a second set bellow the first set, the second set is developing faster than the first set and it started bellow the first set :main_huh:

Get why I am confused now?

The set that is closest to the tail are developing eggs, the others are follicles. Not sure abut the swapping around. ;-)

Is this her first clutch? The reason I ask is I've noticed my virgins or first clutch of the season females tend to hold onto their eggs forever and everything in there gets all discombobulated. I'd keep watching her to see if the lower eggs start getting bigger if not she might be reabsorbing them. At that point I'd reintroduce the male. Hope that helps.

Yes, she is a first time breeder with her first clutch.
The lower set is definitely getting bigger at this point.

I think that after the follicles develop, they must move down to be fertilized (at least that's what happens with people). When my females are laying, I will see the developing eggs closer to the tail than the signs of new ovulation. Is it possible that the original 2 follicles you saw have now become eggs and moved down towards the tail and you're seeing new follicles in the ovaries?

I check my females daily. Takes two seconds when I am cleaning/feeding I pick them up take a peek set them back down... I remember seeing two sets of follicles two large ones at the top two smaller ones at the bottom. I have been watching this girl and I have been thinking "why is she taking so long to develop eggs" then about 4-6 days ago I started to see the second set of follicles develop and they are now eggs...
