No no Wes, the gecko isn't wild caught. It's parents are. It was explained previously.

I was there while Steve explained it so here is my best (going off of memory). It is illegal to have f1 wild caught imported. However if 2 f1's are bred (where it is legal) and then the babies are a resident to the country in which they were produced for a minimum of 4 months, then they can be sold and imported anywhere. Steve said he got them from 2 wc, and then has been breeding them himself...only just now beginning to sell them. So yes it is illegal for wc to be imported...but there is a way to beat the system if you know someone who will breed them and ship them to you from somewhere else. (I hope thats completely accurate :main_rolleyes:)...so this would make this gecko WC bloodline not true WC.

i would not breed a WC to anything else but another WC of the same subspecies. What you use WC's for is the proving of a "new morph" that you think you have created, since you know that a WC's "gene pool" is completely clean, and is 100% het for nothing! Thats the only thing i would breed with a Wild Caught... either another WC, or a morph that you truly think is a new one. Otherwise, breeding it to any other morph that is already out there will only thin out it's WC blood, and looks.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I always enjoy reading them. As to answer the questions of where the wild caught came from was explained by Enigmatic_geckos earlier. Her parents are just wild caught which would make her a captive bred wild caught. I plan on breeding her to my Male Co-dom Snow/Co-dom hypo cross. Which I know for a fact is not het for anything. When those babies hatch I will be glad to put them up.

Very nice, breeding to morphs is beneficial and anyways can get a male subspecies in the future when they become more available. Plus males of any sub species are hard to find since there are not alot being sold

She looks great
