I was doing a run down of the list today while i was in the shower and was thinking someone that has only posted 2 times before and recently was looking for some plain jane pattys and has all this stuff seems a bit fishy.

OMG. I don't know what to say right now. I am devastated beyond words. I'm so sorry. I was just trying to do what is good and right, like all of you. It looks like I was played... because I am a loving and generous person with a good heart. I feel so horrible. I just can't believe this is happening.

It would be great if someone could explain how we found out this was a fraud, just in terms of being able to protect ourselves next time.

Well, I think it really says something about our community that even though some of us may have our differences, we all stick together on stuff like this.

I did change the TOS and from now on I require written evidence proving that a tragedy occurred. I don't understand how this guy Tony sleeps at night, I really don't.

Marcia, regardless of what has happened I applaud you for getting things together and for being the kind person you are. If this had been an actual event that had happened to me I would definitely want you on my side. We all got duped by the lies that have been exposed and all we can do now is move forward.

Luckily you haven't shipped out any geckos yet! I was going to ship out geckos too! I just hope he hasn't ripped off anyone else...Can you post all his information and the situation on the BOI? Others must be warned!

We should all learn from this lesson- yes, it is great for the community to come together, but we should verify ALL information before posting it public.

I also thought it was odd that he had time to join GF right when this false tragedy struck. If it were me an internet social would be the last thing on my mind. If I were the MOGL my flying monkeys would be planning an aerial assault. In spite of the nickname, MOGL has a heart of gold and she went out of her way to try to get "Tony" back on his feet. What a punk!

Regardless of the warning signs we recognize now, the saying goes "vision is 20-20 in hindsight". The fact is that all of us were duped, and nobody should feel bad about trying to do a good thing, especially not Marcia! The only person who should feel terrible is Tony, but unfortunately characters such as he rarely feel regret for their actions. I'm just relieved that Kelli and others were able to figure this out before it became a real tragedy. Good detective work, all.

Oh my goodness...I am at a loss for words...I was so upset by this "trajety" that I told my entire family about the situation, and was considering sending some money too...I don't understand the attitudes of some people these days...

With that said, i'm really impressed at how everyone was so willing to help out others that NEED IT at the drop of a hat, especially with the suffering economy lately...everyone was willing to give "something", even if it was small. We should be really proud of ourselves

I need to get all the pertinent information from Marcia. I'll go ahead and post it over there once I get all the info. GeckoForums is a sore spot for Rich (owner of the BOI) and any links to here don't show up on Fauna, so we won't be able to post a link to this thread but that's ok, we can still let everyone over there know. Unfortunately Marcia is banned from Fauna so she won't even be able to post.

What?!?!? I didn't check this thread till just now when I was gonna pick out the geckos I was gonna send him! I talked to this guy on the phone for 30 min on Friday morning. I am shocked at the whole thing and Kelli it sounds like there was a threat made that warranted the above reaction. I don't know what else to say.....
