Katie if you want anyone to take you serious quit the attitude

I disagree with this statement. Much of the 'help' she received from her question ranged from the smugly arrogant to the patronizingly pedantic. I don't see where her attitude needs any kind of adjustment, but I can certainly see others that do.

There is a way to disagree with someone while still being respectful. Not saying others were being respectful or not but you can only control your own actions. I hate to see anyone start off on the wrong foot. The worst thing that can happen and noone takes her serious and she doesnt find the help she is looking for or noone wants to answer a question because she cops an attitude with anyone she disagrees with.

i dont see how we got from someone wanting to cross blizzard to raptor to make her own diablo blanco and ended up here. the OP just wanted to know if she really got a blizzard because said gecko appears like a murphy patternless now. at least that is what i got from reading the thread and talking with OP.

I hope my advice on a better attitude wasnt taken the wrong way. I was not trying to be critical. I will stay out of this thread since Im not familiar with mp or blizzards enough to stay on topic.

I just asked a question about my FIRST leopard gecko. I got torn apart by people on the internet. Over a leopard gecko morph. C'mon people, theres more to life than this 'arguement'.
I'm okay with it. I'll get over it.

Yes I did have a bit of an additude. I stand up for myself. I'm not the type of girl who will be walked all over. I get this everyday at my job. I'm small, I'm blonde, I look 14 - Do you think I'm respected? No. Do you think I like when someone who doesnt know me calls me 'Princess'. Dont dish what you cant take.

CAN THIS THREAD BE OVER WITH! THERES NO SENSE IN THIS ANYMORE! I don't care if you 'take me seriously'. Just dont be little me for asking a question.

I hope you stick around here Katie. This is a great site with great people. In the end, we're all here because of our fascination with geckos. :)

Er... I called you princess. Me. You can tell which one I am because the member name and avatar to the left of my posts are distinct from the member names and avatars of other users.

I'm not entirely sure what it is that I'm dishing and incapable of taking though. Care to clarify?

... someone went and complimented me, which means I feel obligated to write something tangibly beneficial. Because I am all soft and cuddly like that and hate to disappoint anyone that's gone and thought well of me.

There's something that you're not aware of, Katie, that nobody seems to have really bothered to tell you. So I'm going to lay it down.

Reptiles as pets are a pretty niche interest. Growing, with public interest and acceptance on the rise... threatened by legislation and AR groups... but not really all that big. Especially not the people who take it seriously enough to get involved with other people who share the interest; lots of folks with one leo, beardie or corn snake that never speak to another herper, but not too many that really get involved.

So those who do tend to be rather invested in that interest; in the future of the market, in the well being of the animals, in the idea of verifiable and tested information being spread. It is important to them, a subject of paramount importance to their perspectives. They tend to respond very strongly to anything that threatens what they know to be positive practices.

Odd as it may sound, many of the qualities that make leopard geckos such ideal pets and hardy captives also make them particularly vulnerable to being mismanaged. They are, in some respects, comparatively easy to keep alive and to provoke to breed- even when conditions and combinations are not otherwise ideal, or when there are ethical responsibilities that are being ignored. Combined with the low cost and ready availability of the geckos, leo enthusiasts and breeders are faced with far more instances of negative and negligent practices than is the case for many other species.

You stumbled headfirst into a couple errors. You didn't know any better, but to those who do, these are fairly egregious transgressions. Many people won't be a model of genial affability because you have done, or proposed to do, things that were harmful to the aggregate population of captive geckos and harmful to the ability of others to raise the average standard of care and quality among captive stock. To then get defensive when one of them tries to go out of their way to educate you, as you did starting around post #13 of this thread after some of your misinformed positions were pointed out is just going to compound the problems.

Now... Kelli clearly wants people to play nice on her forums. I'm inclined to do whatever it is that Kelli asks of me, because when it comes right down to it, I respect her enough to abide by her wishes. You don't know me too well, but that really means something coming from me. If you meet me halfway and acknowledge that solid information is worth a lot more than hollow platitudes or empty support, and that the answer you need isn't always going to be the answer you want (and that someone might answer a question you didn't ask because they see what you need to know) then I'll personally help you out in any way I possibly can as you figure things out. I'm nearly useless with morph combinations because I don't like any of them and can't keep the names straight due to lack of interest... but I can probably find something worth knowing.

Katie, that's about the squishiest I have ever seen Seamus.
Please read between the lines there, he has very good information.
I'm not sure you've even seen his last post, you're kinda busy reacting to the previous one. I think you'll be great to have around here, stick around Mizz Katie?
