AAHHHH!!#Q@^$*#%^$%*$%^(W!
So...I orderd turkish roaches about a month ago..and haven't had crickets since...There was one chirping under the fridge a month or so ago, but I killed the sucker...All was peaceful...No escaping crickets..Until......last night...As my head hit the pillow..the chirping..began. I listened in horror...

A few minutes ago...I pulled out the fridge..Cleaning spray in my hand..as I pulled out the fridge..3 crickets go racing up the walls and I spray them to freaking death with the spray, screaming like a freaking banshee!! All of them...were female...one was mature, the other two were almost mature.....

I start freaking out...rip the cardboard cover off the bottom of the fridge..and there's more adults!!! I start spraying and stomping and going absolutely freaking crazy and kill one male(1 chirping freak down!!!) And other almost mature cricrickets.........

What do I do!?!?!?!?!! I didn't see any babies or anything under 3/4 of an inch, but there could be some in the fridge couldn't there!?!?!?!?!!!

GAAHH!!! There was another one, not mature yet, I missed him!! Darnit!!!!

What do I do!?! I only had luck breeding them once, as I couldn't keep their soil moist enough and the eggs all dried out..Here in Alaska we have like 0 humidity, our summers are hot and dry..but in the bottom of the fridge isn't there constant humidity? Oh..my...gosh..it's just like a nightmare I had...

I HATE YOU CRICKETS!!!!!

Edit: 2 more down.........

Get yourself a cat. I already have a few crickets loose running around the house, thankfully I have not heard a chirp. My cat has done a great job so far in hunting them down :main_evilgrin:

My dog hunts them down(he doesn't like cats haha) he's a good cricket killer, but he can't kill them if there all in the fridge....

Isn't it ironic that you couldn't breed them when you tried, but you managed to get a colony with zero effort now that you don't want it??? I say check your local home improvement store or garden center. They should have something you can use to exterminate them and/or prevent any more eggs from hatching.

buy some spray or something, Am pretty sure there is 0% way your going to be walking ankle deep in crickets one day. However something from a bug store Will take care of your little demons in your kitchen!

Too bad you've already sprayed. Otherwise you could have let your reptiles loose under the fridge for awhile . . .

get some of that sticky matt stuff and lay it under the fridge and check it in the morning. they would prob. all be stuck to it.

yeah cause I mean they must come out to get food, but I know they probably get liquid from the moisture collection pan in the fridge...T_T

hhaha oh the irony, i think the sticky paper idea will work, just put something in the middle of it to attract them... If it makes you feel better, i had one escape last week, i searched everywhere for it, but had no luck finding it, anyway, it chirped for 4 nights stright, and drove me crazy! coulnt get to sleep because of it. Soon switching to roaches! :) !!!
