I'd say about little more then half a year, why?. Crazy how much you can learn in a short period of time if you really want to.

It really is, but wouldnt it be more like 4 months, in your first thread you stated you got your first leo august 14th(well really you said you got him 3 days prior to the thread, 8-17-11). Not trying to step on toes, just saying. But it is easy to learn about things you want to learn about.

Your not stepping on any toes:main_huh:..your right it is 4 months. Am I going to be hounded now because I made a mistake on how long I had geckos for lol?..I just don't understand what this has to do with anything lol...and why you felt the urge to check and call me out on it like im trying to lie about my keeping...I can understand if I said a little over a year to boast it up or something...but is this a competition or something on who had geckos the longest?..are you kidding me lol...did I say something that was in over my head here??. Because if I did I would love to hear what you have to say about what I said...along with others.

Idk, i just posted becuase i didnt want any drama, no one screaming deciver XP

Wheres the drama??...between me and you? or between me and marcia?. I have not been disrespectful to anyone on this thread or put down anything in this thread I don't understand what you mean by any drama, are you imagining things? So what your saying is you just wanted to post, so you decide to see if i'm trying to lie about my keeping and tried to call me out on it?...you don't think I realize ive made it clear when I bought my geckos on this forums and could easily be determined.

Grboxa. There is no reason to boast up your gecko keeping experience and you did. That tells a lot about a person

Your right there is not, and you can beleive what you want about me, you dont know me at all. This isn't what it's about so I dont understand whats going on here. I feel like i'm being treated like one of the 'trolls'. Why would I boast an extra 2 months, thats not a big difference and it makes sense because I said a little over and its the 7th of December, if I said over a year I can understand. Even then...even boosting about an extra 6 months just dosent make sense, Everyone is quick to assume, how many times have I said I am no way an experienced keeper and stated how long I had my geckos for, why would I try and lie now?...like seriously?..you act like I lied about an extra couple years.. I dont really care if you don't believe it was a simple mistake, you dont think I know there's someone on EVERY forum that try's to nitpick at everyting and if I lied it would be able to be determined if I was or not. Back to the point, I still don't understand where this came from, do I act like I am in over my head?, Kelli what was your point with that question please tell me. I wont assume, but I feel like your trying to call me out on my inexperience for no reason....I just wonder what I said to spark this curiosity, whatever I post on this forum is either known and im just passing on the info, or something that I have experienced. It seems like alot of people on this forum take it as a keeping contest and a popularity contest, i'm simply here for MY geckos, and to pass on information that I can for OTHER geckos. Think what you want.

For crying out loud, people! Somehow we (including me) have wandered to far away from the topic I wanted to hear about when I started this. It certainly wouldn't break my heart if the Mod Squad closed this entire thread.

Anyways, I did try your gecko slurry last night and a few minutes ago. I weighed my gecko and he did indeed lose quite a bit of weight. He licked a lot of the slurry right off his nose and I didn't force anything. So how long do I give the slurry for and when do I try feeding some crickets again? I've been leaving mealworms in the tub at all times.

How much weight has the gecko lost? In a case like yours, the slurry should be sufficient for the gecko to produce a stool for a vet to examine and rule out any kind of parasitic infection. Again, the slurry is not medicine, and it will not cure anything. Also, gecko with a belly full of slurry will not be hungry and therefore not be very interested in prey items.

He went from 57grams to 41 in just about a month. I have the vet check on Friday. He did poop last night after his first serving of the slurry. So the point of the slurry is to provide a stool sample? I thought it was also to Jump start the eating response again.

It is, but she was saying that you can also use it to get a stool sample for the vet lol. When your gecko stops eating it can be a sign of parasites. Normaly that is checked via stool sample. However its hard to get stool from a animal thats not eating. So in your case the slurry is a good way for you to get one. The vet will be able to tell you if you will need to keep up the slurry and what may be wrong with your leo.

A experienced exotics vet can run a fecal off of a cloacal wash without needing the stool sample brought it. So in any case getting a anorexic gecko to a experience exotics vet, stress those words, will always be helpful. But the slurry is not only a good source of temporary nutrition but can also provide the stool for the techs to read.

I was not aware, thankyou. I think stressing that point is extremely important aswell, a good exotics vet is key. Though they can be hard to find.
