I would be interested to know also, what percentage most are getting from a black eyed blizzard to normal eye blizzard would make in the offspring. I had a quarter of 10 eggs hatch out last year to be black eyes from this pairing.

im still confused about the hole thing. so i can pretty much breed a blizzard, to a blizzard, or a blazing to a blizzard, or a blazing to a blazing, and just pull the eclips or snake eye outta my butt?

It has not been proven that Eclipse seen in RAPTOR is the same as what is seen in Blizzard. There are breeding trials going on this year to prove whether or not it is. If it is not the same as what is seen in RAPTOR, I hope all breeders refrain from useing "Eclipse" in reference to Blizzard's solid eyes as it cause additional confusion.

That's easyer said that done ;) now RT along with some other breeder have bred blizzard blood into RAPTOR line to make (RAPTOR blizzards) i don't think you've got a cat in hell's chance of telling the two a part either way.
You don't even know if the ruby eye on trempers RAPTOR blizzard on his web site is blizzard eclipse or tremper eclipse i bet he dosen't really know for sure and i can't think of any way of him or anyone could tell.

can any of you guys answer my question?

My answar to this question i'd haveto say YES:D .I have a eclipse blizzard that came from two normal eyed blizzard parents. And a more confusing partial elipse super hypo tangerine baldy that came from two normal eyed super hypo tangerine baldy CT's that to my full knowlage have NO RAPTOR blood.

Actually, it's very simple...

Breed a perfect eyed RAPTOR to a perfect eyed "Eclipse" Blizzard (that IS what Pat & I are doing). If the first generation shows NO Eclipse or some do and some don't, it's not compatible as if it were a simple recessive (like some people think RAPTOR Eclipse is).

No. You need to differentiate between RAPTOR Eclipse and Blizzard "Eclipse." IT IS NOT KNOWN 100% AT THIS TIME IF THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME. If they aren't the same, then a different name needs coined for the Blizzard version.

I was answaring a question above about pulling a BLIZZARD eclipse out of no where.Which i've done Blizzard-normal eyes X blizzard-normal-eyes = blizzard eclipse. But i also had a odball hatching from SHTCTB-normal eyes X SHTCTB-normal eyes = partial eclipse SHTCTB that has NO blizzard blood and NO RAPTOR blood.

A question on SPECIFICALLY Blizzard "Eclipse" was not asked. Just Eclipse & Snake-Eyed.

Reread my last 3 or 4 posts in this thread. :main_yes: He did not state specifically Blizzard "Eclipse" nor did you specifically state which you were talking about.

Sorry but it's still not that simple so if you breed a tremper eclipse to a blizzard eclipse a get a instant result it still dosen't make them the same(recessive) and you'd be wrong to asume so.(920GECKOS) bred a partial eclipse blizzard to a mack snow with no eclipse blood and got a partial eclipse mack snow offsping that to me sounds dominant ?.But dominants DON'T have HET's so how did mine eclipse blizzard come from two normal eyed blizzards ?.So not knowing 100% how any of the eclipse gene work it's far from simple.I'm thinking they are pretty much the same but aren't recessive or dominant'ect but a simple inherited trait like striped & jungles.

But it's all head doing stuff :main_huh: personly i can't see people caring if there two strains i think a eclipse will be a eclipse in a couple years time when shops and first time breeder get them your no going to know your a$$ from your albow(i don't meen you i mean in genral):main_thumbsup: .The two will be blended that much you wouldn't know which it's which.Imagion when blizzard RAPTOR become come and are bred to standed blizzard and blizzard eclipse how much of a pain in the a$$ with that be for a breeder the one with eclipse and albino eclipse eyes witch is witch they will all get marked as eclipse coz the only way to prove them is to breed them then sell them i can't see meny breeder doing that can you ? hold a seller for around 3 years before selling it.

you can have het stripe from certain lines which means its a simple recessive trait.

What stripes are recessive ? whos had 100% stripes from stripe to stripe breeding ?.They are inherited traits like big ears & nose'etc in human some offspring get it from there parents some don't that's why you can class them as het jungle het stripe coz its in there blood line but they are not true hets.

You're NOT listening.

If it's the same (RAPTOR Eclipse and Blizzard "Eclipse") it WILL SHOW UP IN THE FIRST GENERATION 100% if it is recessive.

That is how recessive works. Recessive x Recessive = Recessive

Shall I quote myself again since you can't seem to read what I've already said?

Pat and I are doing RAPTOR (perfect solid eyes) x "Eclipse" Blizzard to determine if Eclipse seen in RAPTOR is the same as "Eclipse" seen in Blizzard. I however do not think it is, but at least we'll have a final yes or no on that matter.
