So all of us are absolutely nuts over our critters, but not many of us can make a living at it.

What kind of job does everyone have?

Throw up some pictures of your workplace, if you want! :D

Im not a breeder so my gecko expenses are fairly minimal.

I work as a project manager for bank mainly for financial technology and developing support models and training seminars for applications and services.

Also, well this is more of a hobby but it does bring in some income, with a few friends I compete in video game tournaments. Not enough to make a living out of it but it does bring in more money than people think plus I always end up getting free computers and parts.

I teach biology courses (ecology, marine biology and zoology) at two of our local community colleges. Sometimes I get to bring animals in for demonstration purposes (watching a snake eat really helps them understand what I mean by kinetic jaw) and I like to use leopard gecko traits for questions when we are covering genetics! So, at least my job is still connected to my hobby!! :D

I am disabled, a full-time gecko breeder (7 species!), and a part-time Minister. My husband's salary pays the mortgage and all the household bills. (Thank God!)

I am a Shipping Manager for a very small Wireless Internet company called MacWireless. I also do a ton of Tech Support for them as well. Tamara goes to school full time. We also do a very small amount of Web Design/Graphic Design for people. Hopefully in the future we will be able to do that more.. at least that is what I would like to see happen.

Not sure where to start on this one.

What used to pay the bills for me was www.balloonzforu.com, but since I had to take over my husbands business I've closed it temporarly.

I currently run CBS Transportation, Inc. a not so small, small business. We are a ground transportation company with 50+ vans and 92 drivers. We transport crews for CSX Railroad, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, and American Eagle Airlines.

I also do this as well www.CherubsNChocolateDealer.com

And heres the office:

And for the record, I do actually love my job. It pays well, I don't have to work on my people skills and I get to go into crime scenes. :D
Morbid, I know, but someones got to do it. Right?

I am the Resource Coordinator at an elementary school. In a nutshell, what I do is basically run most of the afterschool extra curricular activities. Kind of like an Athletic Director. I love my job! I get to be involved with these inner city kids and act as a role model to them. I coach Basketball and Football and coordinate an annual 5K run.

I pay the household bills and mortgage while my wife buys the groceries and kid stuff.:D

Im also a disabled veteran.. well actually thats what i'm labeled as. I prefer veteran with disabilities of which I also receive a check each month for.

Though I can't really say the trade off was worth it (chronic chest and back pain & nerve damage/scarring for the rest of my life for a small monthly check for the rest of my life)

But then again free health care for the rest of my life so I guess it's not too bad.

It's just unfortunate that I can no longer do anything active anymore. Not that working in an office for a living instead of jumping out of airplanes is that terrible.

Anyways, between that and my regular job it's enough to pay the bills and help my parents out a bit.

My fiance (who also lives with me) is a Montessori teacher and she helps out with groceries and anything fun (vacations, dinner, movies, etc...).

@T&KBrouse - I think that is very cool. Actually I remember watching a special on television a while ago about persons in your profession. I thought it was very interesting.

I'm a social worker (now don't look at me like that!!! ;) ) who works with pregnant and parenting teens. I love my job!! :D I've also started up a private practice (well, someone's got to pay for the geckos!!! :main_laugh: ) I am truly hoping this year to break even on the gecko endeavor, and have a *modest* income between my private practice and geckos to pay for the froo froos in life. My husband's a stay at home dad and house husband extraordinaire.

BTW, being a BRAT sounds pretty interesting, actually. :main_thumbsup:

Nancy, I think being a college professor would ROCK!!

David, maybe we can talk about designs........:D

Currently, I'm just a student at home with a nice credit limit. ;-) I'm looking for a job to pay off the credit cards though. Ha. Sad.

I'm a home care speech therapist --I work with adults only. Fortunately for me my husband is a a software engineer. I'd be happier if I were a monkey because I work for peanuts. It's a private practice and we're actually discussing giving ourselves raises for the first time in 10 years. The geckos almost pay for the geckos and the equity loan, unfortunately, is paying for the kids' education (2 in private school and one in an expensive college). I wonder if they'll have room for the geckos in the poorhouse . . .

That's so cool! I had to take speech therapy as a kid and I really loved my therapist. She made a huge difference in my life as I'm sure you do with your clients.

i live with my parents so no bills. i work at a software company and i also umpire. I work with kids like some of you, but they just yell and argue with me, especially their days. But it pays too well to pass it up.
